MNSSHP was truly wonderful. HOT but a really good time. Here's a quick report-- more to come later.

We entered at 4:05 pm w/o issue. There was no specific turnstiles to enter through. Unlike last year we entered wherever we wanted and went to a station to get our wristbands and bags.

Parade is still running at 8 & 10pm w/ fireworks at 9:15pm. The fireworks aren't Wishes or a version of them. They announced them as Halloween version of Fantasy in the Sky. Incredible nonetheless. However they only ran for 11 minutes, which seemed short.

The rides were all walk on's! We only waited for 1 ride and that was about 10 minutes and it was Big Thunder. We walked right onto Peter Pan, TTA, Buzz, Mickey's Philharmagic, HM, & POC.

We got a TON of candy!! Our bags were so full we had to start another one. The candy is a huge variety. The most candy was to be found after about 11:15 pm. They were giving it out 2-3 handfuls at a time.

No Cinderella's Carriage this year.

They have mask making stations-- they are the masks from Epcot, but now you can add a Halloween flare. They also have Alice and the Mad Hatters Treat Party on the walkway between Toontown and Tomorrowland. I didn't see this last year--- so I'm thinking it's new. As you walk the path the characters are there for photo's and there is various candy spots too. Not many people were going down there.

We never did the picture because they seemed busy early on and then we just actually forgot. Spots are listed on map in Tomorrowland (near Buzz), Near LTT, and in Frontierland.

My DS wants to make sure Goofy's Roller Coaster is open this year!

This is open.

I'd like to know what counter service places are open before the party starts. Tried to make a PS for Plaza Restaurant and was told they are only serving until 4:50 (we wanted closer to 5:30). Have a great time. Look forward to your report.

When we went by the Plaza around 9pm they were closed. The map lists Cosmic Rays as the only counter service meal to be had.

I'll report more tomorrow and look back to the other questions then.

I did notice we were able to leave Tomorrowland by 6:45pm though. There were no longer CM's "blocking" the exit. We left and went to Fantasyland then. It was really weird because we were the only ones there.

Thanks guys! We'll be there on the 12th. I have an ADORABLE (if I do say so myself!) Alice costume I made for my dd (2). I can't wait to take her to the Alice and the Mad Hatters treat party. Thanks so much!

I didn't see the tshirts or the pins-- so I don't have that info.

I did notice that in one spot on my map it lists only Cosmic Rays and LTT for food-- but Casey's & Peco's Bills is listed under the open "attractions" in their respective lands. Along w/ other snack places.

The ride list from page 1 was accurate w/ the exception that the map lists In Adventureland- Swiss Family Tree House & Tiki Room are open this year, and due to rehab no Magic Carpets. In Liberty Square-- they no longer have Goofy's Jamboree-- however during MNSSHP they didn't have the replacement character meet & greet either. At least not the 2 times we walked by. It was just a trick-or-treat station.

Also, COP isn't listed on the map as being open. However at 6:30 pm when we started to walk away from that area it was still open.

The map does list Nov 16th as the Grand Opening of Stitch's Great Escape. I was really hoping maybe there'd be a suprise soft opening during MNSSHP-- but no luck on that front.

I'd have to say about 25% of the adults were in costume and about 70% of the kids. We went last year on sold-out Halloween and it was about 70% adults then and 95% kids dressed up. So, I'm thinking the closer to Halloween the more adults you'll see dressed up. We went as a Pajama party. It was lightweight and easy. The CM's commented a lot on DH's outfit.

The weather from the first party I attended this year and the last party I attended last year were both HOT HOT HOT!!!! I don't know how some of the kids were walking around in those heavy one piece furry Disney Store costumes. Remember to adjust your costume to the weather. I know we've gone trick-or-treating in the snow at home before, so for us the heat is all new at Halloween.

In comparison to Halloween night--I'd say last nights party only had 1/2 the crowd. It was wonderful. When we went on Halloween it felt wall to wall people (so all sold out party goer's get a good plan together), last night at times we were the only one's in areas.

My #1 piece of advice and I found it to be true for both year's. If there is any way you can wait until after 11pm to go to Toontown- then do it. We tried both year's to go during the 1st parade. In '03 you couldn't even move. This year was no where near as crowded, but the waits for characters were still running 10-15 min and candy had about 20-25 people in line. So we left and returned again later in the night. Fast forward to the last hr. Character waits were 1-3 min and nobody in the candy lines.

Hope everyone has a great time!!! I'm so jealous I really want to go again!

We are going to be there Tomorrow Night! Oct 3rd. I sure hope the crowds stay thin like that. Every little bit of info you tell us helps. We have never been to Disney!
Was it hot all night? What time do they close? Did you get to do everything that you wanted to do?Sounds like you had a good time. Were there a lot of little girls dressed in Minnie Mouse costumes? Trying to decide what my dd should wear? Thanks again.

Hi everyone! We are going on the 8th and are so excited! I have a question, and don't have time to search all the pages. Sorry if this was brought up before on this thread. My son (9) only wants to be something scary. We came up with the idea of an alien attached to a t-shirt so it would look like it's coming out of his stomach, with a little blood. We could also do minus the blood for the party, and add it later at home for the 31st. I know they should be tasteful not too scary costumes because of the young children there. Do you think this sounds too scary? Any opinions? thanks!

MJ

We will be picking up our ticket the night of the party. Do they require you to pay to park if you don't have your ticket in hand?

I would also like to know this. ::yes:: And could you please also tell me how much they cost. Thanks! :)

I was there last nite too.
There were charactors I'd never seen including Mr Walrus from Alice. I was at HM by 7:00 for the meet, ran into Fire14 and then bummed along with them.
HM was walkon, other rides too looked walk on. Buzz was walk on, In Liberty Square the pictures are in HOP, and in Timekeeper, there were charactors and Trick or Treating, some of the CM's wouldn't give candy til you said trick or treat, which was alot of fun. Pictures in Adventureland are where the DVC has a space, didn't find it in Tomorrow land.
The t-shirts have mickey ghost on the front (they are denim blue), and the back on the top has the MNSSHP 2004 with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and I'm forgetting someone, didn't really care for them. CM's weren't really pushing alot of people already in the parks to tomorrowland, I sat behind the Christmas Shoppe after dinner for the meet.
Minnie was dressed as a Princess, Mickey a Scarecrow, Donald a pumpkin. Goofys Barnstormer was open. The waits were 5 to 10 minutes depending.
They were giving handful's of candy away, the fireworks show was basically the old Fantasy in the Sky, with a halloween ending, altho the fireworks went up all around the park at the end, which I have never seen before.
The parade was great.
Because of the hurricanes, you cannot get the AP pin, but have to order it. They do have the pins for the party which like MVMCP are a different pin every nite.
If I think of anything else I'll let you all know.
Lynn

Almost forgot,
If you had tickets to the party and no PS, they were holding you at the turnstiles until 4:00.
I think it was a little after 4:00 when they started letting people thru.
Lots of Orange T-shirts,
Costumes were cute.
The little ones were the best.

Wow! That's an obscure character - I would never had identified him by sight!! Wonder if he was at that Alice Tea Party with Alice and Mad Hatter that Kilee wrote about?

Reading this makes me want to go now, but I still have almost four weeks!! I can't wait!! :teeth:

We got a photo w/ Mr. Walrus and it was along the path of Alice and the Mad Hatters Treat Party. We pretty much had him all to ourselves. It seemed not a lot of people were venturing down the path. They had the various "cards" giving out the candy.

Thanks for the quick response, Kilee! I never heard of Walrus out and about before, so he must be brand spankin new!! I will definately be looking for him!!! :) :)
