Mickey's Mexican Fiesta 2011 *Updated 11/29

Great FE, especially the crocheted Dumbo!!!

How did you make your golden Mickey? And what is in the little black bags?

Sorry everyone ... There has been a lot going on and I haven't had time to update this like I wanted. I will post an update on my trip report before Thursday and get you some more awesome photos to look at! Promise!!!

Great FE, especially the crocheted Dumbo!!!

How did you make your golden Mickey? And what is in the little black bags?

Thanks she Dumbo was an experiment that ended up working out great. The Golden Mickey's were a little bit of trial and error but basically they are different size wood doll heads drilled and skewered together then painted gold and then lots of layers of glitter paint. I think those were my favorite to make. The black bags had a set of playing cards inside them for the adults

Well I'm back again! Sorry for the log wait. Thanksgiving was wonderful in case you were wondering. Yummy food and a nice family day. So back to Day 1.

Around 1:30 we were able to go to our room. We had gotten room 6089. It was an inside stateroom between the mid and at elevators. It was literally half way down the aisle. The room was small as expected but nice and cosy.

The bathroom ... just small.... LOL still manageable but small

When we got there one piece of luggage was already waiting outside our door. On the desk an envelope with our character breakfast tickets and Port adventure tickets.

There is also a guidebook to your Mexican Riviera adventure and a flyer for the onboard promotions. In the bathroom there was toiletries
(shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hand soap, and body soap). We had some time to kill so we put our carry ons away locked up the valuables and just kind of rested before our muster drill. I was already tied and we really hadn't done much!

After about 1/2 an hour we just decided to keep exploring. It was at this point that I noticed my camera was becoming tempermental. Ugh ... Seriously

We had our muster drill (sorry no pics). I could barely hear what the guy was saying but I assume that if something happenes bring your KTTW card and meet by your lifeboat station. I'm just glsad nothing happened!

Now it was time for the Sail Away party!!! We went up to deck 10 and watched from above. It was so much fun.

Look how full it was!!!!

After the party we set sail!:rotfl: Again with the excitement. We went the front of the boat and watched it and wouldn't you know there was some nice guy who came around and sold 2 for 1 drinks. Well we couldn't pass up a deal like that.

After drinks came the evening show in the Walt Disney Theatre. The show is called "All Aboard! Let the Magic Begin!" It was a cute show about a family coming on the cruise and how the son wants to become captain of the cruise ship one day. The also showed a small preview of some of the other entertainers you could see later on.

Next came one of my favorite parts of the day ... Dinner!!!

Tonight we were in Tritons. Very Nice. It had the most formal feeling of all the restaurants. We were the first to arrive for our table. Then came Annie and Darlene ... a mother and daughter who I'll introduce later and Joy and Francis ... a young married couple from up north. I'll show them off later also.

Tonight's Menu

For dessert, I couldn't decide between Triton's Sweet Temptations or the Grand Marnier Souffle so ... I got both.

After all this food do you now what our server did ... he brought me out a special dessert because I was celebrating my birthday!

By the end of the first night we were having community dinner at our table. Everyone was sharing and having a ball.

Ok, last but not least ... the turn down service ... we actually visited our room between the show and dinner but I thought this pictures should go last.

Good Night!!!!

Great update!

Thanks for the room pictures. We'll be getting an inside stateroom as well. Is that a split bathroom or a single bathroom?

Also, I was trying to look over at your Planning thread, but do you have the number to call to see what movies will be playing while on board?

Yay! I'm glad you took pictures of the menus because that is the one thing I didn't take pictures of!!! Now I can direct people to your TR if they have any questions about the menus!

I see your room was configured differently than ours, interesting... I got one of the 2 for 1 drinks too, except they only gave me one...
