**Mickey's Merry Cruisers** 12/13/09 4 night Wonder

Hi Paula!
Hi Michelle, welcome to "MMC"

Have you been on a cruise ship before? - I know what you mean about travelsickness, i'm not a great traveler at all and was dreading our 1st Disney cruise 3yrs ago. I booked it for DH 40th birthday, seemed a good idea at the time until reality hit me "OMG WHAT HAVE I DONE"!! :rotfl2:

I have a thread over on the Passporter boards labeled "Gulp - we're doing what?!" so I completely get the "WHAT HAVE WE DONE" feeling! Nope never did a cruise ship this size; ferrys and one of the dinner ship cruise things are about it. Strangely enough; I love roller coasters and have no issue but then again I keep my eye closed for most the ride:rotfl:

1) I hate water, I get sweaty palms and palpatations just going over brigdes:laughing:

2) I feel sick on any mode of transport, car, trains, planes etc I just couldn't understand what possested me.:confused: to book a cruise!!

We have tried some of your travelsickness remedies whilst over in the USA but they have always made us really drowsy which is not great when you've got to look after 2DD'S:yay: to look after:lovestruc

My DD also gets car sick, so a few years ago I discovered some soft & chewy pastilles called Traveleeze. It contains Meclozine Hydrochloride?? and also ginger. It's strawberry flavoured and basically you take it about an hour before travel or if you feel sickness coming on and it dosn't make you feel drowsy.

I made everone take them before we got an the ship, and then just took one every morning throughtout the cruise and nobody in my family was sick, in fact we didn't even feel it once. (oh what a lovely conversation!!). I'm notsure if you can buy them in the USA or whether there just for the UK market..

Unfortunately, looks like Traveleeze is only over in the UK, and the US version is called meclizine aka Bonine, dramaine II and a few other things - all of which I react to poorly to say the least:sad2:. Thank you for the suggestion tho:flower3:

I've got a couple of long car trips between now and Dec so I'll see how ginger pills and Sea bands do on that. Not that I get really car-sick but after about 5 hours, queasy is a good description~

Anyway long and short of it was that we had such a fantastic time, loved every single minute of it and are counting the days until 13th December:banana::banana::banana::banana: until we sail again!!!

My DD's are busy making there door magnets etc, there are 11 in our party, we are celebrating my parents 40th (Ruby) wedding anniversay and on 15th Dec the day we are at CC it's my DD's 10th birthday so lots of celebrations for us!!

Hope to hear from you soon
Paulaxxxxx:love:

Thank you so much for the welcome, Paula!

 Hi Michelle, :welcome:

Welcome to the Disboard, so glad you joined us. :disrocks:

I'm sure you'll be bumping into quite a few of us. If you PM me with your Rm # would like to try and meet up with you.

Don't feel bad about not joining in the FE, it's your choice. ;)

Thanks Carol~ I was relaying all this info on the FE to hubby who got a pained look on his face and asked "could we hold off on jumping in with both feet? At least can we wait til we're sure we should jump?"

PM is coming your way shortly, <cough>tho knowing me I've already posted the number somewhere:angel:

Thanks again everyone! I'll probably lurk more than post (4 years on the Passporter and Dis boards and neither account has over 350 posts...) but I will be around!:goodvibes:grouphug:

Michelle

 Oh my goodness, it's been quiet here the past couple days ~ did I shock everyone with a starter list for the FE? ? ? :rotfl2: I didn't mean to. :surfweb: I wanted to update everyone on what's happening.

Remember there are more out there that I need info from ~including stateroom numbers. If you don't have them, not to worry, I'm patient...we still don't know the number of our room. :confused3

How's everything coming along with the FE gifts?

Hey Carol and other Merry Cruisers! Just stopping by to say hello...getting excited as the time for our cruise is nearing. I'm currently deployed and won't be home for another couple of weeks, so I haven't had a chance to even begin planning my FE gift yet...I hope I'm not too far behind the power curve.

Hi Florida Girl

Okay folks, anyone else ready to email/PM me with an update on FE list.

It's getting closer. Come Friday we start double digit countdown ! ! ! !

:woohoo:  :cheer2:

Hi everyone!

I hate to have to say this but we have had to change our cruise date. We will be going on the 4 day that leaves on Valentines day instead. I hate that we will not get to meet all of you and that we will not get to see the ship decorated for Christmas.

I hope you all have great cruise and look forward to some cruise reports afterwards.

Brian

:sad1: Hi Brian, Sorry to hear you won't be with us on MMC, looking forward to meeting you, DW & DS. :grouphug: Have a wonderful time on the Valentine's Cruise ~ :lovestruc Love will be in the air. :thumbs up:

Hi Carol,

I promise that as soon as we get our room # I will give it to you.

This may be a dumb question, but it's our first cruise and first time doing the FE so we're still a little confused. When everything is set, will we have the ages of everyone on our list, right? And we drop off a gift for each person every night of the cruise, is that correct? I just want to make sure I have the basics down. :)

We just got back from our summer vacation on Sunday (Ocean City, NJ) and now the countdown begins! Is it December yet???

Jenn

and just for the record, my dh's name is Brian and my dd is Addison

I have a question for those of you that have cruised before with children. We will be celebrating our 9 year anniversay while on the cruise and we were wondering about the Disney's Oceaneers Club. We thought maybe we'd have dinner alone together that night but we just don't know how we feel about leaving her somewhere that we're not familiar with, you know? Can you tell me if your children have enjoyed time spent there? Did you feel safe leaving them there? Thanks!

Jenn
