Is the castle white on that? I assume it is just the lighting from the fireworks? (It was actually my son who pointed it out!)

They are replacing the candles with gold looking Mickey type heads.

I remember when they did this... It was horrible.. We were all very happy to see it go back to normal... it was that way for about 18 months I believe...

I must admit that I did like the candles but I agree, leave the castle alone, at least until the next major anniversary. It is beautiful enough on its own.

The candles were elegant and i liked them, these mickey head streamer things do no sound or look elegant. They are wrong!

Starting to get nervous now, what with no tarzan, no lion king, strange decorations, weird new music, I hope our trip in May will be as good as in the past.

To take off two "strong" shows and not replace is not a good thing!

Am I the only person around who like this?

We were there when the castle was like this (the only time I've ever been), but I actually really like it as I think it's well done to make it look so much like a cake. Having said that, I was also a fan of the arches of winter at DLRP, which also seem to be quite unpopular...

Back to DLRP's castle... Again, I quite liked the candles as they didn't interfere with the castle in my opinion. I'll reserve judgement on the next overlay until I can see it for myself as it's not fair to judge it based on heresay as I could easily mis-interpret what Emma is describing.

I do wish, however, that they'd return to the standard castle occasionally - these overlays and extra theming should be reserved for special occasions, rather than having a new one every year.

ETA: One more thing - it's already looked a bit like that once upon a time:
