In Minnie's house, the kids can pretend to make popcorn, sit on the furniture, etc., but, in Mickey's house it's all fenced off. Does anyone know why we can only look in Mickey's house and not actually go in the rooms? Just curious.

This is already at the bottom of the forum so, I'm bumping. I'm really curious why we can't explore Mickey's house.::MickeyMo

Because Mickey's house is really just a clever pre-show/queue line for the meet & greet with Mickey in the Judges tent. They don't want folks milling around- they are supposed to file through the house and garden on the way in to the tent.

Mickey's House was actually designed and built a number of years before Minnie's (Mickey's opened in 1988, Minnie's opened in 1996). Mickey's was created as a walk-through while Minnie's was designed mroe of an interactive play area. I'm a little surprised that they didn't try to change Mickey's into being more like Minnie's but I'm not sure that the layout would really be condusive to that since it wasn't designed for that type of traffic flow and all.
