Hiya! We are planning our anniversary trip & I just found out that the Mickey's Halloween Party is on while we are there! I really want to go, but my DH isn't so sure since we don't have kids. I called the hotline & was told that it's for all ages, but DH still isn't sure. The other thing is that the day of our anniversary we have a 5:10pm reservation at Blue Bayou but the CM told me the park will be closed at 7pm that day if you don't have Halloween party tickets. Is that enough time at Blue Bayou? TIA.
I would definitely go if I were you guys! It's so much fun for kids and adults!! Adults can go trick-or-treating too and can meet with the characters!

That will be more than enough time at BB, and at 7 they'll walk you out of the park if you don't have MHP tickets. We're in the minority here, but my partner and I (early/mid-40s) really didn't like MHP last year. We were there during CHOC weekend so it was admittedly very crowded. But what we didn't like was the vibe. The costumed guests were great, but there were also rowdy/rude costumed teens carrying on that brought the event down for us, too. The candy lines weren't really magical either. You just stand in a 5-10 minute line with everyone and their kids to walk quickly by an overworked CM who throws a handful of candy in your MHP trick-or-treat bag. It was ok and we got a lot of candy. But it wasn't anything we're yearning to do a second time, either.
(Although for fullest disclosure, we may end up back at DLR on an MHP night in September. But that's just because we have those days off.)
What kind of rowdy stuff were they doing?
