We've just booked our trip to WDW for October and will be buying tickets to the Halloween Party when they are available - we are really looking forward to seeing Halloween in the US, as we are from the UK and there is never very much going on over here, but we have heard how great this party is - it sounds fantastic fun!

The children would like to dress up but are not too sure who to dress up as. DD wanted to dress up as a witch, would that be appropriate for that party? We tend to just do witches, skeletons etc over here, whereas I've heard about children dressing up as characters for Mickey's Party?

My two are teenagers (12 (DS) and 16 (DD)) so more like adult size for costumes. Any ideas would be great, and also any tips for the party would be fantastic too - we are hoping to get tickets for the actual Halloween Night.

Also, anyone else going to this party who are as excited as us? ;) :Pinkbounc

Our group loves MNSSHP. We (all adults) dress up too. Your daughter will be fine as a witch. You'll see a bit of everything.

Have a great time!

This party is so much fun! We went last year and are going again this year. A witch would be a great costume. We saw all different kinds of costumes last year. The only thing that is discouraged is the fake weapons. You will have a great time! I couldn't believe the atmosphere last year. If you want tickets for Halloween Night, you should probably order them as soon as they are available.

I am from the UK originally. I have been over here almost 10 years. Halloween here in my neighborhood is so much fun. You would not believe how many trick or treaters we get here! Definitely different from the UK.

Tell your kids they can dress up as whatever they like! It doesn't have to be confined to traditional 'halloween' costumes, like witches and ghosts. Over here you just dress up in whatever fancy dress costume takes your liking. At Mickey's Halloween party you do get lots of girls dressed up as their favorite Princesses. My son last year had a Stitch costume, Buzz Lightyear the year before that. It doesn't have to be Disney, really any fancy dress costume is fine. I have been a Jedi, and my husband has a Jack Skellington costume. There are always costumes for sale at WDW, especially the month leading up to Halloween, so you might be able to pick something during your stay if you get stuck for ideas.

Hope you have a great trip and enjoy the party. The very best bit for me is watching the headless horseman come riding down Main Street just before the parade..awesome site!

Yes, I am excited too! This will be our first MNSSHP. Of course, dd will probably dress like her princess of choice, but I don't know what I'll do yet. I have an Evil Queen costume that I would love to wear, but it's rather heavy and if it's hot, I won't be able to wear it. I have a witch costume too that's much lighter, I'll probably bring both and see what happens.

I can hardly wait. DH and I will be going to MNSSHP twice on our upcoming October trip. We are planning on dressing up the first night we visit and then wear MNSSHP t-shirts the second night. This will be our first vacation ALONE, without children and we can hardly wait. We will be visiting from Oct 12-21st.:tigger: :goofy: :tink:

We are also really looking forward to our first ever MNSSHP. Me and my DDs are considering dressing up as Pink Ladies (from the movie Grease). We were going to try and stick with the Disney theme but couldn't come up with any ideas for 2 teenage girls. DH will probably not dress up - he doesn't tend to get into these things. I will make him wear some kind of Hallowe'en tee-shirt though ;)

This will be our first Mickey's Halloween Party also as we have to take our vacation a little earlie this year. We usually go 1st week of Dec. and got to the MVMCP which we will really miss. But I have read great things about theHalloween Party. When will they release the dates or sell the tickets? Are there discounts for DVC members or AP Pass Holders? Thanks Lori

If I remember correctly they released the dates for MNSSHP and MVMCP on 4/31 last year. There aren't DVC discounts, but there are certain nights that are discounted for AP holders. Looking forward to my 1st MNSSHP this year
