Hey Y'all!

Wanted to do a solo trip before our annual January family trip and was wondering which party I should go to.
Never been to either one and both cost about the same.
Any event advice would be great! Ty in advance :)

I've done the Christmas one. We went right before thanksgiving one year and didn't care for it. Other then the parade and fireworks it was a let down.

I want to do the Halloween one next. Seems to have more going on at those parties I may enjoy more.

I've only done the Halloween party but I've always found it really good fun. The parade and fireworks music is some of my favourite and I often listen listen to it while I'm home.

That being said, I think seeing snow on Main St would make all my wishes come true.

How long would your solo trip be? Could you straddle it over the last Halloween Party and the first Christmas one?

Tough call. As far as the parties are concerned, I prefer Halloween.
In terms of the overall atmosphere of WDW in general, I prefer Christmas.
And to make it more difficult, the Halloween party overlaps with F&W, which tips the scales for us.

We went to both parties last year. The first Halloween party and the Christmas party right after Thanksgiving. It may have been because the first Halloween party was a nightmare (we're talking, people got refunds on their tickets level of nightmare), but I actually preferred the Christmas party to the Halloween party. To me, Disney just lends itself to Christmas more, as Christmas is just more of a "happy" thing than halloween in my opinion. However, both had excellent parades and excellent fireworks. I just enjoyed the atmosphere of the Christmas party better.

I've been to the Christmas party the last 4 years and I love it! I have been lucky enough to pick a great date each time, and the crowds were always super low so the party was so much more enjoyable. Last year was probably the best MVMCP I've been to yet on Nov 12th. It wasn't sold out and you could definitely tell.

I've never been to a Halloween party, but I have tickets for the Sept 8th party this year so I am excited to finally go during the Halloween festivities.

I have heard from several friends that Halloween is the best party. I'm not really a "Halloween person", so I'm not all that tempted. Love the Christmas party though!

We've done both. We all prefer the Halloween Party, My wife wanted to do Christmas one time (and we did) but she said that she could do without it. Going back to Halloween party in September and really like it.

I will be there for 2 nights. unfortunately, they are weeks apart. Did you go with kids?

What is F&W?
Well, we will be there in Jan. so the Christmas decorations and feel will still be there. i think Halloween would be best

Nope solo traveller (kids would totally ruin it :rotfl2:). I dressed up, went trick or treating, got pictures with characters and took advantage of the short ride lines. The atmosphere is fun because lots of people dress up and being solo it's so much easier to find a spot for the parades and the fireworks.

I actually prefer the Christmas party, because I'm more into Christmas than Halloween. The Halloween parties are much less crowded, but we're not all that enthused with them. If you're into the two holidays equally, I'd choose Halloween. If you're all about Christmas, as I am, go with the Christmas party.

EPCOT's Food and Wine Festival. It runs from September 14 thru Nov 14 this year, so easy to do both!
