Mickey's BBQ or Hoop Dee Doo?

DH, DD (9 months) and I will be staying at FWC and would like to know which of these you all prefer (especially since we'll have a 9 mo old).

The food is similar in both venues, but the H-D-D is more of a show with audience participation and corny jokes. You are served your food at a table. Mickey's BB is held in the pavilion, so it's almost outdoors with buffet lines and picnic tables. Some have said it's hard to get food for little ones and also get a place at a table. DH and I celebrated our anniversary at the BB in 2003, and loved the characters, line dancing lessons, rope tricks, etc. They announced birthdays, anniversaries and other special dates, and had a special dance for people celebrating an event.

We've had a good time at both.

Thanks dgaston! Seems like H-D-D would be better for us since you have a table and the food is brought to you. Also being indoors (don't want the little one being eaten by bugs).

The Back Yard BBQ is in a screen in pavillion. So I don't think you need to worry too much about bugs. We went in May..so the bug situation wasn't a problem at that time. We have done both Hoop Dee Doo and the BBQ..and it really depends on what you are looking for. The BBQ you sit family style at picnic tables so you would be other folks..unless you have a pretty large party. It is served buffet..so again you serve yourself. There is line dancing and country music(actually quite good..if you are a fan of it) The characters come out and there are autograph signings..and in our experience they spent lots of time for photos and such. If you have a few little ones that don't want to sit through a sit down show this is a good option as they can get up and walk around and dance. It was an all round good time. That being said my son was 9 at the time and loved it..my daughter was 14 and hated it. So I wouldn't bring a teen. The Hoop Dee Doo is a comedy show with singing and dancing and is really quite funny. The food was pretty good...and they make a real fuss over you if they know it is a birthday or anniversary. One cast member was rubbing her hands through my husbands hair...and then would refer to him durring the performance...asking him what he thought. It was very funny. She called him "Bob..from NY" several times..and other guests that attended the show recognized him afterward...also referring to him as "hey that's Bob from NY!" We still kid him about it...he is of course mortified! It was a fun time.

gotta say that we are HUGE fans of the Hoop Dee Doo.
