It is mostly picnic fare, hot dogs, hamburgers....im sure more....but that is all I remember...LOL

(this is why that is all I remembered) there is also all you can drink beer and wine....LOL

There is a country band that plays, and a few characters come out, dance and take pics with you.

I booked it for our trip last summer and then called it when I got Chef Mickeys. I am so glad I did. It was rainy and stormy that night - hot July night. It is held under a shelter at Ft.W.

I have yet to hear reviews to convince me that it is worth the $$$.

Are you taking children & if so, how old are they?

We did this in April & IMO it is geared towards younger children. My DD's are 14, 11 & 11. We decided we may as well get up & join in the fun, although they weren't to keen on line dancing, etc. at first. We ended up leaving before it actually ended.

The few "acts" they had were entertaining.

The character interaction was great for young children.

The food was just okay - they have hot dogs, ribs (chewy), corn on the cob (chewy), baked beans, beer, wine, lemonade (no diet soda  - which is all I drink!!)

Anyway, if your kids are younger then this is fun for them. If they are pre-teen or older, skip it & do dinner somewhere else.

okay now I am rethinking this one-- maybe I will check Chef Mickeys out..

I wouldn't go back, I like country music, but to me it seemed that it was more for families with smaller kids, and it is just DH and myself.....so we just drank the all you can drink beer and had fun anyway...but I wouldn't go again.

anita36 - are you taking children? If you are, how old are they?

My children loved it!! I think it was worth the money just to see their excitement!! The food and entertainment is GREAT!! My kids have been two times. Once with us and once with my parents!

If I were going with kids, under the age of say 13....I would do it, but just DH and myself, not again, but that is just my opinion!

Honestly, I would say any of those choices would be good because of the ages of your children.

The food at the Hoop Dee Doo & the BBQ are the same, so it depends on how much money you want to spend.

Chef Mickey's is a great breakfast & the character interaction is also good.

Really, I don't think you can make a bad choice as far as entertainment. If your considering the quality of the food also, then Chef Mickey's would be my choice. :D

We did the Hoop De Do last week. We enjoyed the food and the show was funny. It was pretty costly. I haven't heard about the back yard bbq. Is it along the same lines? I would love some first hand reviews for this since we are going again in december and will be staying in the campground.

as for you dinning choices, I was suggest looking at your budget and trying the meals you think your family would enjoy. My friend told me something really cool when we were planning our trips. She said, "don't worry about dissapointing your girls, they don't know what's there and what isn't! just choose the two or three special meals you think they would enjoy the best!" That was the best advice! So, i looked at what I could spend on meals, and made my priority seatings!

If you want to try the Back Yard BBQ, then try it:teeth: I think I'll put this on our list for next time:wave:

Have a great trip.
