I just made ADRs for Mickey's Backyard BBQ for Tuesday, September 19th. This is will be both our honeymoon trip and first visit to WDW. After making ADRs, I've read many negative reviews for the BBQ, and am thinking of cancelling.

Would two honeymooners aged 24-26, no children, enjoy the meal? We already have ADRs for Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's, so it's not like we'll have no character meals. Would you recommend the BBQ, or would you cancel? :bride: :groom:

OMG, I just took my DGD on Thursday, and will not be going again. First, the food is good and the people are friendly. No complaints there. BUT ......and it is a big BUT....(sorry)....it was chaos! Lots of kids, of course, and lots of noise. The characters come out and dance with the kids in front of the stage. There is a band, they are good, and they provide entertainment, but it really is very noisy. My DGD was overwhelmed by the sense of confusion, so we left early, but if you are game for a big picnic type party with a lot of excited kids, huge very famous mice, a Goofy dog and a couple of chipmunks, you will like this one.

My first time to WDW was me and DF. We went to the B-B-Q, and no, I wouldnt recommend it for a couple without kids. Im not sure I would recommend it for a couple with kids. The food was good. CMs were very friendly, but it was very loud, crowded, unorganized and just a mess. My input? Cancel it. :sad2:

My new hubby and I did Hoop De Doo on our honeymoon in July and loved it! The food was great (even better if you are confirmed carnivores like us). Yeah, it isn't 5 star, but it is plentiful and tasty. For rib fanatics like us, it was heaven on a plate.

The show is good, but the whole place isn't 'chaotic'. The show is corny, but if you bring your sense of humour it can be fun. And be sure to let them know you are honeymooning! We got mentioned 2x in the show :)

Hoop De Doo is going to be a 'regular' on our WDW schedule.

Oh yeah..WEAR THE BRIDE EARS!!! Where them everywhere! My hubby couldn't wear the groom ears, so I wore mine all over the place. It was great fun...all kinds of 'little' perks.

Have a great time!!!!! :thumbsup2

We took our 4 yr old DD last year and it was a crazy place to go ! Thank goodness there was 2 of us, one to SAVE the table space and one to chase and follow her around.
It was OK, but we prefered CP and C Mickeys much better, more relaxed.

It wouldnt be my choice with no kids, and I would prefer other places if on honeymoon. Thats just MHO.

Congratulations on your upcoming marraige!
