Below is the Mickey Wind Chime I just completed following the directions on the internet from Lowe's. It was made from scraps I had laying around and all I had to buy was the red spray paint for the tubes. The tubes are some aluminum from one of the folding camping chairs. The dinger and hanger are from an old scrap solid oak toilet seat and the Mickey head was from some acrylic circa 1968 I've had forever. I did have to soften up the dinger by enclosing the yellow dots in some clear packing tape since the bare wood on the aluminum tubes was too loud and DW wanted a soft sound. The yellow dots were added since the DW asked where the yellow was since I already had the black and red.:rotfl: I'm quite pleased with how it turned out and may take it with us this Dec to FW if it's not too loud, but it's really fairly soft sounding. Unless you have the scrap tubing, buying that can be a little pricey and might not be worth it. I was going to make an eight tube chime, but only had enough tubes long enough for the six tube chime.

The longer you're married, the less the wife wants to hear out of your dinger!

If you have to use the hammer on it you should take it into the garage. You should never beat your dinger in public. :thumbsup2

Well, I see this thread is going south very quickly, but after close to 40 years married the wife is attentive on how well my dinger is working and wants to exercise it often and keep it in good shape and still rings her chimes so to speak. :goodvibes If we aren't careful this thread could be locked of simply go away so let's try and get it back on subject and clean it up

some things are better left unsaid....:scared1:

Whoa, man. It's just some wind chimes. I mean, they're nice and all, but I'm not sure I need to have this information, know what I mean?

To each his own, I guess...

I'm tellin ya, I leave the room for a few minutes and look at what we have going on here! :rotfl2:

I am going to quietly step away from the keyboard before stepping in any further on this thread!

By the way, the wind chime looks pretty cool Larry.

My Ding-A-Ling-A-Ling

When I was a little biddy boy
My grandma bought me a cute little toy
Two Silver bells on a string
She told me it was my ding-a-ling-a-ling

My Ding-A-Ling My Ding-A-Ling won't you play with My Ding-A-Ling
My Ding-A-Ling My Ding-A-Ling won't you play with My Ding-A-Ling

When I was little boy In Grammar school
Always went by the very best rule
But Evertime the bell would ring
You'd catch me playing with my ding-a-ling

Once while climbing the garden wall,
Slipped and fell had a very bad fall
I fell so hard I heard birds sing,
But I held on to My ding-a-ling

Once while swimming cross turtle creek
Man them snappers right at my feet
Sure was hard swimming cross that thing
with both hands holding my dingaling

Now this here song it ain't so bad
Prettiest little song that you ever had
And those of you who will not sing
must be playing with your on Ding-a-ling
