NNOOOOOO!!!

A major highlight of our upcoming March vacation was to see the Mickey's 75th Anniversary statues......and according to Deb's site, they are leaving tomorrow!!

I'm so mad!

Here's the link from Deb's site: http://allearsnet.com/tp/mk/mick75.htm

Sorry if this has been discussed already.

It would be interesting to know the real reason why Disney is pulling this display early.
Guests are always letting their kids climb on them, even though they are roped off. But I have seen this happen right in front of security, and no one stops them. So it must not be a big deal.
Because of this I don't think the reason is the wear and tear between guests and the weather elements -- but always a possibility.
People have guessed so they can make an appearance for Ei$ner and his shareholders in Philly.

Also the 5 city tour is 15 statues in each of the 5 cities, not 75 in each.

We're leaving on Friday and I was looking forward to seeing them. Can't they PLEEEAAASSSEEE stay another week!!!!

Nothing like no notice. I arrive Wed night and was really looking forward to seeing them. I'd like to hope that Deb's site is wrong but I've never seen her post something "wrong" before. Bummer

They are supposed to announce in March where they are going that they pulled the statues early.

It is possible that many of the cities on the statue tour might not have the space to display all 75, although three tours of 25 each would be better than five tours of 15 each, space permitting.

Saw them in November, but unfortunately didn't look closely at them all.

Vote for Nader, you'll get back Bush.

Does anyone know if they have replicas of the statues in the park for sale? Me and my fianc'e just saw the Mickey hockey one and want to buy one when we arrive for our honeymoon in April.

I'm bumping this up because I've added the link to Deb's site to my original post!

 Noooooooooooooooooooo!!! We arrive this weekend and were so looking forward to seeing the statues!!! I am SO bummed!!! :(

I am very glad I was able to see the statues during my vacation, and I think it does stink that everyone who maybe planned to go see them during this time, now can't because of the changes. I also think it stinks that not all 75 will be together on the tour...I am really disappointed about this, was hoping to see them all again, instead of just 15!

I think it would be a grea idea if they sold mini replicas of the statues in the park...I would definately buy certain ones for myself and BF!

CRAP!!!!!

We are also leaving this weekend and had everyone (even my husband) pumped over seeing these. We had a plan for a family portrait (but a friend of the family who doubles as a pro photographer) in front of the cop one. (do you know how hard it is to find mickey police stuff!!! - they have him done up in fireman's garb everywhere - but this was the only time i saw any depiction of him as a police officer.)

DOUBLE CRAP!!!!!

not doing well to hide my disapointment in this sudden change - lori

I can't believe this!! We planned this trip arriving April 1st just so we could see the 75 Mickey's. I can't believe the amount of notice that was given either. No chance of changing plans at this late date. What is going on with Disney lately? It's one thing after another! We are soooo disappointed with this news. We can only hope that the tour will change and we will be one of the cities it visits, but of course I doubt that. I feel like cancelling our trip but what would I tell the kids. Disney, how could you let us down like this???

WE WERE THERE THIS PAST WEEK AND THE BROCHURE THEY HANDED US SAYS MICKEYS WILL BE THERE UNTIL APRIL 30TH!pirate:

hey Mufasa, is it true, until April 30th?

When did they put the statues up? I was there in Oct 2003 and did not see them.

Hi all: I'm a reporter with the Orlando Sentinel, the local daily newspaper near Walt Disney World, doing a story about the statue's dissapearing.

I'd wanted to talk with people who were hoping to see the statues during their vacation, and were surprised to hear they were leaving early.

If you'd like to chat, please call my cell at 321-438-4612. Or email me at smussenden@orlandosentinel.com
