Mickey Mouse Antenna Topper

We're borrowing my mom's car to take to Disney this trip. (It's bigger than ours and has way less miles!) She has an antenna. Guess what her souvenier is going to be????

None have flown off, but I had one stolen. They are great and stick on really well. As others have suggested though, buy backups just in case.

When I would remove mine before going in to a car wash it would pop off with a sharp suction pop noise so no way it would blow off.

My Sorcerer Mickey lasted over 1 and a half years on my Saturn. I lost the star and moon stickers and replaced them with reflective stickers. No one ever touched it and I park on the street near a elementary school.

Last week I had to buy a new car and darn it it had to have XM radio and it has a little shark fin for an antenna. :sad1: What to do.

This is for those of us without antennas. Get the one with the double stick tape. The magnetic one falls off over 40 mph. They are great for finding your car in a parking lot.

I have the newer mickey with the cape that looks like he's flying. Besides a few lovebugs on his feet, he's never flown off, even tho he looks like he's going to!!! LOL Maybe yours was just a fluke??

I got one a while back of Mickey with a Rudolph nose and antlers for Xmas...loved it so much. Drove the interstate at 75-80 and never lost him. I bought the pack of holiday toppers only to realize afterwards that my new car didn't HAVE an external antenna!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2: What a shock that was to open the pack, take it out to pop it on and....what the heck! I sold em on ebay for half what I paid and laugh about it years later!

I had a Stitch one that I absolutely :lovestruc LOVED, that we got in 08'. I have a tendency to drive pretty fast, ;), and he stayed put for over a year, (UNTIL SOMEONE STOLE HIM OFF MY TRUCK IN THE LOCAL WAL-MART PARKING LOT!:headache:).

I got one on my Feb trip (Canadian Mickey Mouse) and it on their fine and I go over 50 all the time... speed limit on local highway is 65!

But I've not gone though a bad winter with it yet (was in WDW when NJ/PA was closed due to snow in February)... may get a back up when I go in Nov just in case.

I just wish my antenna was one that was vertical, mine angles back so it's hard for me to get it in a good spot the show off the Maple Leaf

I have never had one fly off.....I have one pop off in the car wash and have had MORE than a few "borrowed" on the street where I work.

I have never lost one while driving.....too hard to stick on for them to fly off.

My newest - the flying Mickey - LOVE IT.

My DH lost one to a low branch with his 4 wheel drive truck(it sits up a little higher than he thought) & SIL lost one to her cat chewing on it in the garage. I used to drive a SUV that didn't have an antenna so I couldn't get one before. Traded the SUV a few months ago for a new sports car. To my surprise, it had an antenna. When we were at WDW in March, DD got me the Mickey Bar with a bite gone. Trust me, I had driven 75-80 down the Interstate & Mickey has stayed with me!

Seriously - I've had a few - they don't come off unless it was "taken off". Sorry to hear that it happened. Should be able to find some at local Disney Store (are they still out there?).:rotfl::lmao::cool1:

For everyone who's had trouble with people nicking theirs, you could always do what my mom did and stash them inside, up on the dash. (These weren't Disney ones...anyone remember back in the day when Jack In The Box had a Jack ball for each holiday? Probably 10 years ago now.) She had one in front where she could see it, and two in back.

My mom had her Year of a Million Dreams Mickey Ears antenna topper stolen.

We coudn't get another one, so my niece picked out Cinderella's coach. I told my mom to mark it with her initials on the bottom. She thought I was joking. I grabbed my Sharpie and put them on for her. Probably won't stop someone from taking it, but if they did decide to put it on their car I have a chance of getting it back.

Both my dad and my sister still have their antenna toppers from 2008.

I drive with a topper on all the time. We just got back from a trip doing 80 mph down the interstate and have never had one come off. I would just make sure it's on good, make sure you push it down as far as it will go.

this is the first i've heard of an antenna topper actually flying off, but i've read on here about them being stolen MANY times. for that reason, i stick mine on a toothpick and stick them in the speaker grates on each side of my dashboard, and i threaded upholestery thread through one and have it hanging from my rearview mirror.

I lost my 'standard issue' black Mickey head when we pulled out of a parking garage in Baltimore. I've got a full size truck (which makes me nervous parking in there anyway, but we always fit. Mickey however did not- we heard him clip the low hanging sign. DH walked around looking for him, but apparently we didn't treat him right and he's found someone else.
Now we have the Mickey Icecream bar. I love the shadow it cast on the ground while at red lights. I'm giddy thinking about it...:lovestruc

Wouldn't you know it after posting on this thread yesterday Dh took the van in to get fixed and they sent it through the car wash.:headache: My Minnie is gone. :sad1: At least I have several replacements. Put on my July 4th Mickey for awhile.
