Mickey & Minnie...wishbook increase...is it worth it?

I'm hoping I'm not going to get those extra charges for Randy (and A Magic Moment Video) and initially when I asked about outside vendors my WC said there wouldn't be a charge. But I wouldn't know because...I haven't yet got my invoice. I'm sorry -- it's like 27 days to the wedding and I know they said not to worry about it (they'll e-mail it to me when they're done), but geez....I keep obsessively checking my e-mail to see if it's there so I can go over it and pay it. It's driving me crazy

I think they are OBSCENELY busy right now beause neither my EM or her assistant have replied to any of my emails lately (actually, they did reply to one.) In that one they sent they mentioned that they are very busy and to please keep all questions until our planning session in January. I think I'd try calling too since what you need is pretty important ;)

I had a feeling....I guess I'm just worried that it's all being left to the last minute. Actually I'm really worried that the invoice will show up either Tuesday or Wednesday next week. I'm stuck in exams for both those days and then I have 4 days to essentially learn Canadian Income Tax law before writing a 24 hour take home exam. And I'm afraid something will go wrong with the credit cards (like the transaction won't go through because I don't usually charge high amounts on them). Thanks for making me feel better :goodvibes

ForKeeps- I dont know if you saw my post before SRUAlmn or not. I did in fact have trouble getting mine charged to my debit card. Apparently they put limits on those per transactions these days (who would have known). I had to call my bank and allow for them to take out 'x' amount that day. Turns out my WC didnt take it out that day so I had to call each day and allow for that much to be taken out until she did it. It didnt take long and wasnt too time consuming. Dont worry- things always work out for the best :grouphug:

thanks maggimus -- it's good to know that it will all work out even if there are complications along the way. btw...your TR continues to be such a treat to read (literally...it helps me get through the studying :teeth: )

I would say that having Mickey and Minnie was definately worth it! This was not something that I had planned to do - actually a last min add on - we realized that our count dropped and I had some extra money to play with - but we had a lot of little kids and they went crazy - they were all Josh's cousins kids and that was the best moment and actually Josh's 84 yr old grandma who had never been to disney before was more excited to see them than anyone- so for us it was worth it! But I think it is a personal decision- like I said it was not something I was gung ho about doing - I thought it was too much but when I had the extr $$ in my budget at the last min I thought what the heck and added them and afterward everyone had gone so crazy and just loved it!!!

I also had a Mad Hatter Tea with the Mad Hatter and White Rabitt

We are on the fence about adding Minnie and Mickey! I think we have room in our budget, but we don't know whether people will actually like them or not. We dont have a lot of children coming to the wedding and it's mostly family. We love seeing Mickey and Minnie, but we are way more Disney-obsessed than our families! :)

We're in the same situation. Most of the people we have invited that have children won't be able to make it, and our families love Disney, but not as much as us :) I mentioned it to my family and some other guests that are coming and they all thought it would a really cool idea, but I just don't know if it's worth that much $$$ for a 'cool idea,' you know? We're still debating. I guess I really just want to do it for the picture opportunities. How many chances do you have to get your picture with Mickey in your wedding dress!

I totally agree with you! There will probably only be us and my dad and step-mum (who aren't into Disney at all) but it's soooo what I want that M & M are a must for me! There's a slight difference for us tho' in that we're renewing our vows so now have a little more money for 'luxuries' and it's a 40th Birthday pressie to myself really!
I guess at the end of the day, it's up to the individual to weigh up the pro's and con's of photo op's etc V cost.

we were the same - i really wanted Mickey and Minnie for myself but i wasnt sure as to how it would go down with the rest of my family. They were a massive hit! everyone loved them and were so shocked when they walked in! Im really glad i chose to go ahead with them!

We originally weren't going to go with the characters because of the cost! However, after hearing all the reviews and y'all sharing the pics we are going to have M&M and, as a surprise for my DF, Donald. I was originally going to just have Donald & Daisy, but thought it would be fun to tell DF couldn't get them for that night and have M&M come out first and then Donald would sneak up on him later.
Hope the surpirse works and he hasn't gone on this board yet.:guilty: ;) :rotfl:

Aw that sounds adorable. I love Donald.

Thanks! I took DF to Disney for his birthday party and of all the presents he got and all the surprises, the one thing he loved the most is the autographed Donald picture wishing him a happy birthday that the staff at the Poly arranged. I couldn't believe his reaction to the picture- his eyes lit up and he kept asking how did I arrange it and how "Donald knew his name"!
Soooo cute!
He loves Donald!
I am trying to figure other ways to incorprate Donald (and my scottie, Macy, since she can't be there) into the recption!
