Mickey, Minions & more. 2 week holiday. Updated 9/14 - FINAL THOUGHTS

Before I post the update let me say I am sorry if I have fallen behind on your tr. Been busy here. I should be catching up on tr's this week. Also, the Italy update will be coming but I still need to write it. LOl. I will do it this week. Hopefully.

Like I said we went next door.

Some of the decorations as I walked in.

Vinny stayed in the car while I went in to explore.
They had 4 trees at each door.

Looking over at registration.

Another tree.

I then looked up.

This was cute. I never stayed here but it is on my list.

What a pretty walkway. Love the palm trees.

They should say French Quarter or Riverside.

Looking towards their food court. I have never been there.

Some more decorations.

I then went back inside.

When I went back outside I saw this. Not sure if it was dropping off or picking up.

I liked the color.

I am now back to the car with Vinny waiting in it.

Then we left.

I think I will stop here for pic limit.

Up next,

Our favorite value resort…

The Christmas decorations at the Port Orleans resorts are so pretty! I especially like the ones at French Quarter since they are more Louisiana/Mardi Gras colors. Vinny sitting in the car reminds me of John when I want to go inside someplace and just look around. :sad2:

The decorations were gorgeous at POFQ, I loved the colors. The trees were so full of ornaments. You should have gone into the food court to see the scary masks. It is a beautiful resort and very quiet. We loved it there.

Great update Scott!! We all went to see Piano Bob at Riverside., Had a blast !! Will be starting a TR as soon as I have time !!!

The first resort we stayed at as a couple was Dixie Landings. We definitely enjoyed it. I woukd like to stay at POFQ someday. I'm enjoying this tour of all the resorts. Someday we'll do that too!

Never been inside of French Quarter. Thanks for the tour :goodvibes

What a pretty walkway. Love the palm trees.

It is pretty there. Look at those lucky people heading to their room for their first Disney day! :cool1:

Looking towards their food court. I have never been there.

Beignets are found there. They are nice sweet treats to share, and I think this is the only place on Disney property you can get them. I may be wrong, but I can't think of anywhere else that has them.

When I went back outside I saw this. Not sure if it was dropping off or picking up.

It was dropping people off, of course. It says Magical, not UNMagical. ;)

Loving all your photos, my DD loves the POR food court and has requested a meal there during our next trip :lmao:

You should have stopped at POFQ to get some Beignets as they're delicious :)

Your TR is so informative and fun!
The pictures are great and really help me get a feel for the locations, being that I have never been to WDW.

I have enjoyed reading along so far and eagerly await your next updates!
:thumbsup2

I love the theming of FQ. Looks like you're having a great day visiting all the resorts. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry I fell really behind. I read the updates on FB then forget to come over here or just miss them completely. With Jay and Crystal out of commission I have time to catch up.

Really enjoyed the trip to all of the resorts. I had hoped to see more of them but with Jim's foot acting up, driving and a trip to the dark side I just didn't have time. One day I will get back at that time of year and resort hop.

I love CBR and POFQ. Never stayed at CSR so maybe that will be next on my list.

I agree.
Next time I will do that. I think next time if we do non dvc we will stay at POR. I miss it there.

Same here about FQ.
Thanks.

Never been inside of French Quarter. Thanks for the tour :goodvibes
Your welcome. It did loom nice.

The colours of the decorations at POFQ are fantastic, think these are some of my favourites (so far)
They were really pretty.

I am jealous looking at them now but we were only half way through the trip so I wasn't at the time. :lmao:

Beignets are found there. They are nice sweet treats to share, and I think this is the only place on Disney property you can get them. I may be wrong, but I can't think of anywhere else that has them.
I have yet to try one. One day I will.

it is strange how the food court holds memories for people. I love it there and the smell is wonderful.
Next time I will.

Thank you. Oh you should try to get there. It costs a fortune but so worth it.
Next one is coming up soon.

it was a fun way to spend the day.

It happens. I am so far behind on others.
I think in 5 years we will go again for the holiday decorations. That was how long we waited between the last 2 trips. I can understand that about his foot and seeing them.
You should stay in CSR. Beautiful property.

After seeing Port Orleans resorts we moved onto our favorite value, POP Century.

We parked the car and walked towards the building.

Vinny joined me as he really enjoys this resort. Let’s see some decorations.

They had a lovely tree.

Just a reminder.

Quick peek into Everything POP.

By this time it was 1:30 and we had to return the car. We then drove over to the Dolphin and dropped the car off. It is so easy renting and dropping off a car there. Then we went inside to explore.

Now The Dolphin decorations.

These are in the spaces in the revolving door.

Then we got to their tree and all I can say is WOW!

Here are closer looks at the tree.

One more look before we moved on.

Then we passed the shop there. I find the headless mannequin creepy.

The map for the area.

I did take another pic of the tree from another angle.

Some flowers along the way.

Then this.

A model of the resorts.

I am going to stop here for pic limit.

Up next,

The Swan

I have been so busy at work and trying to get my packing started, I've not been on the DIS in what seems to be ages.

I'm a few resorts behind here.

I really like the looks of the Caribbean Beach. It is a beautiful resort, but the small beds and the theme have had us not stay there (we go to the beach after our annual trip so I don't want that theme at Disney). They did a nice job on the Christmas decorations.

We have visited POR-Riverside and POFQ, but not stayed there either. If we did a moderate again and couldn't get CSR, we'd only do Riverside...I really like the theme of the resort (those masks at POFQ throw me off). We've eaten once...a very long time ago...at Riverside's counter service. We hated Boatwright's...it was downright nasty and we were there 2-1/2 hour sbecause they "forgot" about us and our beeper, service was terrble and so was the food.

Congrats on the new car. As you know, Mark has an Altima and he loves it.

We were ninja posting (I commented on your previous resort posts--CBR and the two POR's).

We popped over to Pop for the VERY first time last year, I think. Since we don't do values, we never find a reason to go. But we had some time to kill and stopped in.

I LOVED that tree at the Dolphin. I thought it was absolutely stunning.

What a fun day just touring the resorts, many of which I've yet to see. It makes me wish I'd added more time to that. PLUS I love all the welcome mats. I'm a bit obsessed with them.

And now my lovely POP Century Resort and Spa!!!

Um, who thought the headless mannequin was a good idea??? I feel it should be riding a horse leading the Boo to You parade. :scratchin
