Did you guys all book flight inclusive? I know they arrive not long before departure with flights included, but they have never cut it so fine with room only or room and ticket packages. If this is something new then I am going to make a note of it for a few weeks before we fly.

My trip isn't flight inclusive, I have a fly/drive with BA. It's strange because last year it was almost a month before departure that it arrived. This year (maybe because they're dealing with the Magic Bands too) it seems to be last minute dot com.

That could be it. Though I didn't think the UK office currently has much dealing with the magic bands. I was curious so I went to check my old FB posts from last year as I knew I'd posted a pic of the envelope (I know - sad but true) and it arrived on August 4th and we left September 6th so pretty much a full calendar month out.

I must be careful about complaining though. At least they are arriving before departure, albeit a bit of a damper on the pre-holiday build up. I will never forget the saga in 2008 I think it was, when I had booked through Thomas Cook signature and needed my documents (paper airline tickets and the works). I had been phoning or popping in at lunch time every day making a right nuisance of myself the whole week before we left and kept getting told that they should be here by the next day. Well we were flying out on Good Friday and TC offices would be closed. Thursday afternoon at 4.30 pm I got a phone call to say they had arrived. This was the day before we flew! I literally dropped everything and ran out of the office shouting over my shoulder "Don't lock me out my stuff is in there" and flew up the High Street to TC. My take off would have left Rock n Rollercoaster in the dust

I was also told that a voucher is sent for the free $$ gift card and this is to be exchanged at DTD. I wasn't aware of that.

Yes and that is something that started this year. We previously got ours sent to us with our documents.

You have to go to the World of Disney to redeem it (someone posted exactly where in the store but I don't recall)

I did exactly the same because I knew I posted on Facebook a picture of the envelope last year. We got our Mickey Mail on Jan 14th and flew out on 11th Feb so it was almost a month.

I don't think the UK deals with the Magic Bands at all, but with all the "linking" of reservations & tickets, I think it probably slows the whole thing down. I'm just impatient because after the year we've had we have SO earned this trip and I want to let the excitement start!

I must say that I've never seen Mickey Mails arrive so late.

I have 2 bookings, and I'm glad I requested that they shipped them early.
I have received both bookings' Mickey Mail one month ago, but I was supposed to receive them (again) 2 weeks out.
But I've only received my AoA Mickey Mail, not the POR mail (we leave next friday)
I won't complain since I have the documents anyway

I also have 2 accounts of French parties (on another forum) who leave on the 21st and who still haven't received anything. They sent a mail to WDTC and got an answer yesterday that they *should* receive the MM next monday.
But 1 week for accomodation+tickets is cutting it a little short.

That would be me You collect the gift card from the information desk at the back of the store. Its in the jewellery section. You do need to take both photo ID and resort ID (or at least you did in July however I was among the first to have to collect it that way so it may have changed )

Our documents didn't arrive a month out - I would say only a couple of weeks at most but I can't remember and didn't post it on FB. Might look at my started threads as I remember moaning about the gift card

EDIT - documents (hotel & ticket only) arrived on 22 June for travel on 11 July so weeks out.

Oh not the jewellery section .... please not the jewellery section ..... You know what that means? While I stand in line to get the card DD will be eyeing out the loot. So effectively all funds on that card will be spent before we leave the desk .....

When I saw Jewellery Section my heart sank... MrsR and the kids collect the Disney Chamilia charms so that $200 will be gone before we even get it! I knew it would be touch and go if we had to collect it in world of Disney because MrsR would be eyeing up the Dooney bags, but now I know it's in the sparkle section, I'm doomed!

Great thanks for this. I would never have found it. My DD will be in her element at the jewellery stand whilst DH will be panicking, he may even send me in on my own if I tell him this info!

I wonder if it may be worth a few emails to Disney asking them to either relocate the jewellery section or send us to a different desk. This could become a widespread problem
