Mickey headbands for boys?

His birthday is June 30th. Can we get a birthday button for him even if we're going to be there at the last week of July ?

I wouldn't - it's not even close to his birthday, and he's old enough to know it's not his birthday. All he'll get is a bunch of people saying Happy Birthday to him. I guess if he's OK with that , sure...

If the trip is to celebrate his birthday, and he wants a button, get him one!!!

Yes!!! His favorite character out of the gang is Goofy. Do you know the price though? The canadian dollar exchange can be pretty high. Also, doesn't it get really hot though ?

My husband bought the Goofy ear hat for himself. I asked him if it was hot, and he said "No... I mean I looked really hot, but it didn't make my head hot".

There are things you can buy before the trip that can be used on the trip and still considered souvenirs. And things you can buy cheaper to use on the trip that otherwise would cost more, like light sabers.

That's what matters. My son thought he wanted to wear a button all during a trip (that was actually over his b'day) and after the actual birthday he didn't like it anymore and started explaining to people his b'day was the day before (which I asked him to stop doing b/c people just don't actually care...to just say "thank you" if he was going to keep wearing it), and the following day he stopped wearing it. I can't stand wearing one even ON my b'day. DH would wear one 365 days a year and never get tired of it.

Then it makes sense! Our anniversary is mid-August. We went in October on our first real trip to Disneyland, and considered it our anniversary trip. I don't like wearing buttons and took my anniversary button off a couple days into it. Which looked kinda weird, since DH was still wearing his. Anyway, sometimes trips are for something but aren't at the time of something. Think of delayed honeymoons!

Well, if you had stated that in the first place (or did I miss it? Sorry if I did!) then it explains things a bit. Sure, if he's happy with it, that's fine.

See, to me, that's just odd. You didn't buy it there, so it's not like it was really 'from' the trip - you could have bought it anyways? When we travel abroad I buy one piece of jewelry on the trip as a souvenir. The stuff I bought for the trip is just stuff, as I could have bought it with out going on the trip. It's about the experience of the purchase to me. The looking at what is there, interacting with the clerk, etc. Every time I wear the amber earrings from Bergen I think of the conversation I had with the young woman behind the register. The silver pin from Scotland brings back memories of trying to understand the name of the guy's dog at the castle shop. (It was Jill, but I thought he was saying Geel? They are probably still making fun of the dumb American! )

So, to buy a cheap light saber at home is not the same as buying a more expensive one there, and picking out the parts, having a conversation about it, interacting with the other people doing the same thing.

Does anyone know if my son (14 years old, Disney addict!) will like these ? We never saw a boy wear headbands before (we only see them with hats). I want to surprise him for his birthday for his first mickey ears!

I'm not really certain who likes the headbands - after a while they pinch your head and aren't that comfortable. I would go with the traditional ears or the Mickey Ear hat.
