Hi all,
Last year I had Mickey call and announce that we were going to Disney. He called on Christmas Am and it was the "big" gift for our kids. They loved it. I have a friend that is looking to do the same thing. Anyone know if they will be doing the call again this year?
Thanks!

This would be great for my kids, even though we aren't going until September...

How do you set up the call?

We had that phone call last christmas too. But it was advertised when I booked my trip last year.

This year when I booked our trip, there wasn't any mention of it, so I am assuming they aren't doing it. I was bummed b/c my kids flipped out over it!!

You can pay 2.50 for a call from Disney

Mickey will call and say Merry Christmas but Pooh and Ariel and maybe some of the others will call and say I hear you are celebrating with a special trip. Then you could give them a box and say are supposed to give the box to them.
Inside - you can have helium balloons (mylar so they still float ;) ) and when they open the box the balloons will fly out. We did this one time to tell my niece and nephew we were going to Disney and it was very cute and they loved it!

Our kids were supposed to get a call a few years back & we never received it. We have caller id & checked it when we came back from dinner...nothing. The gift of a trip to Disney was great even without it. Hope all of you get your call if you are expecting one...and ENJOY your trip!!!!:goodvibes

Did you get any unwanted calls from companies trying to sell you things after giving out your phone #? I ask because the privacy policy on the link says they will give your info to third parties.

Someone posted on here that they will offer it again this year. It was on the
Disney site too but no real info yet. I think if you book November 29-Dec 23 you get the call from Mickey. I did it last year and will do it again this year. It was kinda fun.

Well - free if you booked a Disney World trip.

Well, obviously. Why would they send you a call congratulating you on your upcoming trip if you hadn't booked one? :confused3

Those dates don't seem to make sense. I thought the call came on Christmas morning. If you had already visited the world, what would be the point?

I think this call thing is a great idea. I only WISH there would be a call from a character telling the child or children that they will be going to Disney. We are surprising our kids and a "see you soon" message would be so awesome!

They are doing it again this year. Here's the information.

Surprise Them With a Disney Vacation ... And a Phone Call From Mickey

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- What could be more exciting than opening presents on Christmas morning? How about this: getting a call from Mickey Mouse announcing the gift of a 2009 Walt Disney World vacation?

Between Nov. 28 and Dec. 23, guests who book their 2009 vacations to Walt Disney World Resort can sign up to receive a call from Mickey Mouse on Christmas Day, surprising their family with the vacation news.

And the time has never been better to visit the Vacation Kingdom in Florida. It’s party time at Disney parks during 2009. As part of a special park-wide celebration, everyone who visits a Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort theme park in 2009 gets in free on their birthday. Disney Parks has embraced a new travel trend called “celebration vacations.” Wondrous new entertainment and special services such as character greetings can be booked to help guests transform personal milestones such as birthdays and anniversaries into magical Disney experiences.

Vacation rates including theme park tickets start as low as $61 per person per day based on a 7-day, 6-night stay for a family of four in one standard room at a select Disney Value Resort. To book a vacation and schedule a surprise call from Mickey, guests may visit disneyworld.com/gift or call 407/W-DISNEY or your local travel agent between Nov. 28 and Dec. 23.
