Hey Guys-

Anyone have any ideas for decorations, party favors or food for a Mickey themed birthday party?

I have a Mickey head shaped cookie cutter as well as an Egg Shaper.....

I will be in Disney two weeks before our trip if anyone can think of anything I should pick up there.

My son will be three years old. At the party there will be adults as well as around 20 kids, almost all first cousins :scared1:

I know if anyone can give me suggestions, it will be my friends on the DIS.

Thanks

I had a mickey party for ds(2). I picked up mickey pretzels while in disney and did the mickey shaped cake. I also did cupcakes with mini oreos for the mickey ears. The dollar tree has alot of stuff for treat bags. If I can think of anything else, I'll post it later. I'll try to find the pictures too. Have fun planning!

They have Mickey Birthday supplies at birthdayexpress.com and birthdaydirect.com. If you can find them, you could serve Mickey Burgers or Mickey ravioli (I've gotten both at Target). Or you could use the cookie cutter to make Mickey rice crispie treats, and let the kiddos dip them in chocolate and add toppings they would like. They sell Mickey cheese at Walmart, and I've seen the original gang dry pasta there too (for pasta salads). It would be fun to do a pin the ears on Mickey type activity, and I'm pretty sure you could find a pinata.

We're thinking of doing DD's 3rd birthday in a Mickey, Minnie theme, so I've thought of this a little.:rolleyes1

If you go on the playhouse disney site, they have free ideas for a Mickey Mouse b-day party, which we did last year.
I found all the party supplies at Walmart.
We purchased the PVC toy set from the Disney Store, and used the figures as prizes for our game of "Find Pluto's Bones"
As favors, I made Rice Krispie Treats and cut them out with my Mickey Head cookie cutter.
My DS is asking for a Mickey party AGAIN this year, so I was thinking we might do the Mickey Head Tie-Die shirts as favors!

Our local Kroger has Mickey shaped pretzels that I am very confident would be cheaper than at Disney. We are doing a MMClubhouse party this year and I haven't started researching yet, but the website that was rec'd above is one I have used before.

Since it is a 3 year old party, they do love stickers and I have seen tons of Disney Mickey Mouse stuff at the Dollar Store recently that would make good favors. MM crayons, markers and coloring pages, tops, sticker sets, frisbees and little plastic figurines. They also have (not in the toy aisle at ours but over by the kitchen stuff:confused3 )100 glittery Mickey and friends stickers for a buck! Can't be beat.

I have a cookie sheet for Mickey shaped cookies that has a place for you to bake it with a stick in it, like a lollipop. You might find something like that at a Hobby Lobby or other craft/baking store. With some cellophane and ribbon, they would make relatively inexpensive favors.

Good luck and enjoy the planning! It is my favorite part!

Thanks for the replies, sounds like I have much shopping/searching to do to find a lot of great stuff! I had no idea there are Mickey ravioli out there!!! Has anyone tried them?

Keep 'em coming! These ideas are much appreciated!

A friend of mine had a Mickey themed party for her son last year. She made Mickey Ear hats for all the kids and put their names on them using foam letter stickers. The hats were of course not quite the quality of the beanies you get at Disney but it was so cute to see all the kids running around with ears on.

Thanks to the OP & all the tips. My ds will be three next week & I have the Mickey cake ordered but have been looking everywhere for anything else Mickey & just can't find it. I'll check out the websites. My Walmart had nothing Mickey.:confused3

We had the pooh ravioli (cheese I think) and it wasn't bad, we just used our favoirte spaghetti sauce. My only complaint...there isn't enough for a family in one box.

My dd is having a Mickey b-day party this month and we got all our Mickey stuff at Kmart. Just an fyi.

I was just there..there are pack of maybe 6 Mickey ears lollipops that are all colors. They would look great as decorations and treats!

There was a big chips and dip type bowl that was Mickey shaped. A few of those could be fun on the table to hold treats.
