Hi, guys! I'm brand new to disboards, so forgive me if this has already been asked, but does anyone know current pricing of Mickey ear souvenir hats inside Disneyland park? We're going in April (our kids' first trip!) and since we're only going for two days, I'm trying to avoid spending time in souvenir shops. I live right by 4 Disney outlet stores, but none of them carry the hats in store. I'm trying to determine if it's cheaper to just order them on eBay. My oldest wants the Cinderella version (currently $19.95 on eBay with free shipping), my middle child wants either Buzz or Woody ($19.95-$24.95 on eBay currently with free shipping) and my youngest won't care. Probably Ariel or Minnie. Has anyone purchased any of these styles recently in Disneyland? Also, is the embroidery free in the park? I know it takes awhile for them to get embroidered, but if we go to The Mad Hatter first thing in the morning, maybe it won't be so packed.

The hats you are describing are $19.95 in the parks. Embroidery is not free...I think it is from $3-$7 depending on the font.

I can't honestly remember the exact prices, but the DisneyStore.com does offer a selection of Park authentic hats for sale:

This will give you a sense of the prices for the different styles. Personally, unless you know your kids aren't going to change their mind, I would just wait until you get to the parks to buy the hat. There are several more styles than what is shown on the DisneyStore.com and you're little ones might see ones they like better.

I don't think personalization is free. There is a basic font/color that's one price and then it costs more for the fancier fonts. There are signs at the personalization stations indicating the colors and fonts available.

Also, I'm not sure if you can personalize something that you bought elsewhere (i.e., not from Disney). I haven't tried that, but I saw this thread from a while ago saying that they won't personalize anything that they no longer sell in that store.

I know that when I bought ears back in the spring of 2012 at World of Disney, the cashier told me to hang onto the receipt and show it at the store to demonstrate that I had bought them on the property (then when I got them embroidered in September, I showed them the receipt and had no problem). Since you don't want to waste time in the souvenir stores, maybe you can pop into WoD the night before and buy them then? The WoD is always open later than the parks.

We do souvenir shopping on our way out of the park. It's crowded, but Disney isn't going to kick people out of the shops right at closing. :)

Thanks, everyone. I know they won't change their minds, but I think we'll still get them in the park for "the experience" and the fact that it doesn't cost any extra. My understanding (from a friend who just went to Disneyland) is that Downtown Disney opens an hour before the park, and I can get them there. I had intended on taking them to the embroidery place right down the street from me, but I think they'll enjoy picking their hats, their font, and watching it happen. I thought about getting them on our way out, but I want them to have them to wear in the park.
