Since that's when the whole gang will be going, I need to know what the weather is like so I can figure out what to pack for DS. :)

Very unpredictable!:D
Some days it's warm, some days it's chilly........ya never know in MI.
You'd be safe to pack t-shirts/sweatshirts & jackets.........I doubt that shorts'll be needed.

It's usually beautiful here in the fall. September and October are my favorite months. Usually lots of sunshine and blue sky, but chilly. I would pack jeans and sweatshirts, and a jacket might be needed at night. I would also pack at least one pair of shorts and a couple of t-shirts, as you never know when we might get "Indian Summer" weather. Hope you have a great time!!

That's great for us..but what about the baby? Do I pack just onesies and blankies to wrap him up in or do I pack long pants too? Or a little of both?

I will be sure to take a jacket. I DO NOT want to get caught without one..again. The first time we visited DH's grandparents was the Nov after we got married. Stupid us..it was 75 degrees out here and we decided we didn't need jackets. We got to Detroit and BOY was it cold standing there waiting for the bus to pick us up to go to the car rental. Brrr!

I'm kinda hoping I can convince one of DH's girl cousins or maybe one of his aunts to do a 'girls only' shopping trip sans babies to Bronner's. I love love LOVE that place. ::yes::

Bronner's is a FUN place to visit........I go every autumn:D Only 45 mins from my house.

I've only been there once but DH's grandmother usually goes there around Christmastime to buy an ornament or something to send to me for Christmas. One year she sent me a 16in tall Santa dressed in all white with white faux fur trim. He's my favorite Christmas decoration.::yes::

I'd pack long pants and long sleeved shirts for your son, just in case. It can be pretty chilly here, especially at night.

Have fun at Bronner's....I luv to go there! Will you be going to Frankenmuth for chicken dinner and shopping? I really like Frankenmuth, too! :D

I don't know WHAT we'll be doing, tbh. It's all whatever happens once we arrive. The real purpose of the trip (any shopping aside)is for DH's grandparents to see their great grandsons. DH's grandfather is in the early stages of what looks like possibly some sort of old age dementia or maybe Alzheimer's. :( Plus..his grandparent are like totally ancient (80 something)and it may be the one and only time they ever get to see DS and DNephew LittleBitty.

October can be nice - esp if we get what's called "Indian Summer" but I am such a wimp and this is when I start planning my winter trips south to warmer territory. Be sure and go to Frankenmuth - it is a real nice place for family trips!

I would definately say pack long pants-- and then pack shorts for that matter. You have a better chance of guessing what number will come up on a roulette wheel than October weather in Michigan (kind of like January in Orlando).

It can be REALLY gorgeous if the weather is right. However, during my first Michigan winter a couple of years ago, I had certainly been prepared for a White Christmas, I could have handled a White Thanksgiving, but when we had the White Halloween!!

So, in short, pack everything :teeth:

Have fun!

I'd pack a lil of everything.

I got married in early oct. in MI. I was wearing shorts on my wedding day and long johns and my winter coat 2 days later.
