I was assigned to Michelle Dorr as well. All I can say is that she was absolutely amazing. We had Bill as our SM and although he is great in person, we had lots of problems with him due to unresponsiveness, misinformation, etc. Michelle was on matenity leave when we were first assigned so we worked with Karen Heyn for about a month. I was at first very concerned about this - but while Karen was good, Michelle was incredible. I had only spoken to her once before my PS - and she immediately put me at ease. She is personable but no nonsense - and incredibly responsive. I never waited more than a day for an email to be answered. She was great on the phone, over email and in person. My wedding was 2 years ago - and we still keep in touch. I would say that you have been very lucky in your WP. Also, I have several friends who have had Michelle and have been equally pleased. Michelle was FANTASTIC. She was more of a fairy godmother to us than just a wedding planner. She is organized, smart, enthusiastic, and professional. You are very lucky to have been assigned to her!

Absolutely right...I have posted on this before (after my ps) but in brief:
I believe that the difficulty that we had with Michelle was that she was a stand in, and as we understood it a last second (she arrived 15 minutes after our appointment time) stand in, for my incredible WP who was out on disability temporarily. She was incredibly demanding and bossy and shot down my plan for my reception. I wanted to be announced, dance, cut a small cake (just ceremonial, not to be eaten) and then pray and eat. She was appalled that I would do it that way--but that's how we do it where I live. Not the ceremonial cake part--but the order. When I insisted on keeping the order that I wanted it, she almost pouted (and then re ordered it on the preliminary plan). The ceremonial cake was simply because I wanted a fabulous Disney dessert instead of just wedding cake. I didn't want to pay for both. When she nixed my cake idea--she said, "why would anyone want to cut a cake and not serve it, your guests are going to wonder where there cake is", I nixed the cake. She gave us misinformation that completely conflicted with catering/banqueting. She was supposed to give us copies of everything we went over at the PS, but never did. It took almost a month and me constantly begging for her to finally send me a budget and a preliminary plan and then there were numerous mistakes in both (making the estimated price more than double what it should have been) that almost made my mom finally pull the plug. I made my mom wait until my WP returned before making that decision. Thankfully my WP got everything straightened out and organized to relax my mom.
That's the gist. As I said before, it's probably just because she got thrown in and wasn't able to prepare and I was only temporarily hers that she was so tough to deal with, but if something had happened that she had become our permanent WP, I may have not gotten married in Disney.
