Michelle, Michelle, Michelle!

Awesome, awesome, awesome,:cheer2:

She has lived the typical all American life.

The vast majority of Americans can relate to her childhood. That scares the hell out of some people. Well done Michele:thumbsup2

Bunk. When Obama ran for senate here in Illinois she was just as warm and likable.

But it's a different stage now. Before last night she came off to a national audience, IMO, as a very angry, unpleasant woman. Hope this is the "real" Michelle.

Watch it there, next thing you're going to be accused of being a troll. Didn't you know, free speech is one of the things the OS are trying to do away with?

Political leaders with bad ideas — ideas voters will reject out of hand — have always tried to restrict speech. It's nothing new. They can't win elections on their socialist ideas, so they try to pretty it up in artificial rhetoric and stage craft. And then someone comes along and tells the truth about them. It makes them so mad. Yes, freedom is a tough wall to climb for the folks with bad ideas. It'd be so much tidier to just force their socialism on the country. That voting thing? It's been a real nuisance for the socialists.

while I am not a fan I thought she is much more confident and better at public speaking than her husband.

Fantastic night for Michelle. That's the intelligent, caring, beautiful woman with definite First Lady credibility that many Democrats fell in love with early in the campaign. I'd also like to say that I appreciate the good reviews from some of the conservative crew around here. :thumbsup2

In the spirit of the old gameshow "I've Got a Secret"...Will the real Michelle...please stand up.

I thought she did a really good job at changing the way she comes across but I just don't like her speaking style. And I know I'm a vocal conservative, but I really did try to see her in a positive light. For me she didn't do enough to negate her past comments. I thought the girls were very cute though.:goodvibes

One staged speech does not change the fact that she has only been proud of her country ONCE in her adult life.

She and Barry knew exactly what Rev Wright was all about and agree with his views wholeheartedly.

I think I've been proud of the DIS once, too! :rotfl2: and this ain't one of them.

Your point is made, we get it. :rolleyes1

Exactly. She disappeared from the campaign scene for a while to get a "personality makeover". She comes back, smiles, reads the teleprompter and she has been transfigured. ;)

A personality makeover beats having to get a personality injection.

It happens all the time in sales and politics...even in entertainment. It's called reinventing oneself. Why? Because you can't please EVERYBODY, just those you need. and guess what? It works.

Attractive woman, good speech, cute kids. Nice glimpse into the Obamas family life. Glad she loves and supports her husband.

I'd still like to hear details of the platform from either candidate though.

I hope a year from now, we will say, "Michelle who?"

Well I am not proud of what my country has become, but that is due to the current POTUS. I am sure that there are others that feel the same way. Especially when you feel that you have been lied to numerous times about a war we shouldn't be fighting.

She did a beautiful job....I am proud of her speech and this time next year we will be so glad that she is our First Lady.....also it will be really cute to watch the Obama girls grow up in the White House!!!! A family in the WH will be awesome!!!

My, my...she is quite the actress, isn't she? She has done a complete turnaround from an angry, America-hating harridan to Mrs. Cleaver in a few short months.
I don't believe a word she says.

So she lied about her childhood?

Her father wasn't a blue collar worker? Her mother wasn't a stay at home mom? She didn't grow up on the south side of Chicago?....

Love her or hate her, you can't deny that her family epitomizes the American dream.

It is an absolute dream, because Michelle herself said that she couldn't have gotten into Princeton and Harvard with her grades;

MORT KONDRACKE, EXECUTIVE EDITOR, "ROLL CALL": This is a pattern to her. She is the downbeat to his upbeat. And she said on other occasions that the soul of America is broken.

And when she talks about her own past, she can only remember, seemingly, the people who told her she couldn't go to Princeton or she couldn't go to Harvard Law School, instead of the people who obviously made it possible.

If her grades — as she said, she couldn't have made it if she had been judged just on her test results. Well, if she had lousy test results and she still got into Princeton and Harvard Law School, then somebody believed in her. And why isn't she thanking them and saying that this shows what America is all about?

It also begs the question; if she admittedly couldn't be accepted at either place, based on her grades and test scores; whose place did she take?

I thought she did a great job last night. Even my John McCain supporting dh said she really impressed him.

Because being a victim plays better to the DNC audience.
