Let's take our minds of political debates and focus on what's important: Crafts.
If you're a true, DIY-or-die crafter, it's crafts for you all year 'round. As we enter the holiday season, craft stores are going to just get busier.
Which is your craft store of choice?

Myself, I like some of the deals that Hobby Lobby has, but they are not fans of Halloween. They no longer offer the 40% coupon, so you have to watch the weekly flyer for something to be discounted. Holiday stuff is often discounted very early, which is a plus. However, some days the lines are long and they have only two people working registers.

Michaels has great stuff, but the only downside for me personally is the distance. Last time I was there, they still issue coupons, and they had plenty of people on register. I prefer Michaels overall.

*I'll go ahead and add Joann (Jo-Ann, or whatever) as well, even though they're mainly focused on fabric. Good selection of Halloween stuff, the app gives you coupons/deals.

I wish we had a Hobby Lobby in Canada. Just have Michael’s.

We we’re in the U.S coming back from our cruise. I saw those metal pumpkins everywhere and wanted one…lol Some were to expensive but on our last day went into a Hobby Lobby and they had all their fall decorations 50% off and they started off cheaper too. This worked well since it was our Thanksgiving weekend coming up.

I do love Michaels but can be expensive and usually wait for a sale. Don’t get me started that scrap books are over priced there.

I'm a Hobby Lobby fan since I moved to North Carolina. We live too close, but it makes it easy to bop in when something is on sale. For example, I'm out of metallic gold paper, something you need a lot of for Christmas cards. It was on sale last week, and will be again, so I'm watching the flyers. I refuse to pay $1.99 a sheet when it goes on sale regularly. OTOH, I bought a planner there (on sale) the other day.

Michael's is way out of my way, and the last time I was there, they were remodeling, and it was a mess. Not in a rush to go back. Jo-Anne's is near the local college--my youngest is taking a class (he's in HS), and he doesn't drive yet, so I take him. So, I sometimes go over to Jo-Anne's. It's my go-to place for fabric, but not much else. I'll be back when they have their Black Friday fleece and flannel sale--I make everyone pajama pants for Christmas, 3 pairs X 3 kids, plus a bonus pair for DD27's live-in boyfriend.

I am not a crafts person but once in a blue moon when need something of that nature will go to Jo Ann’s or Michael’s. We have a Hobby Lobby that opened in the last few years but will never go there because of how they do not have things for other religions.

Good luck in keeping this non-political ;)
I was only referring to the current political debates on TV.

That's said, if people have political reasons for their craft store choices, they have every right to express those reasons. Because a thread poll is a democracy thread, SoccerDad72. So this democracy party keeps going until the mods lock us down.

Won't go to Hobby Lobby either. Not really for political reasons, but more for the whole "we stole artifacts for our Bible museum" thievery they engaged in. Just bad people all around. I won't support people like that.

It's Michael's for me, mostly out of convenience. Joanne's is too far from my house to bother with most of the time. I can pop into Michael's when I make my biweekly Trader Joe's runs, which is right next door.

I go to all 3 depending on needs (although I prefer to stay away from Hobby Lobby if I can). JoAnns for fabric, sewing supplies and kids' craft kits. Hobby Lobby for discounted seasonal items/decor. Michaels for everything else.

Michaels' selection has been in the dumpster since they were bought out. I'm in Hobby Lobby at least once a week.
