I don't believe anything Joe says either but I kind of hope they aren't there tomorrow. Even though I would love to see them there I don't think Michael wanted them in the spotlight. Because of that I hope they aren't there.

yeah i don't think they'll be there but i read somewhere that they are recording a video for the acceptance speech.. who knows we'll have to wait and see what goes on.. i'm really exited glasses ready and all:goodvibes

I watched TII yesterday night. I tried to hold in the tears in front of my family, but in bed last night I broke down. This past week has been really tough for me. I guess I have been lying to myself that he is still alive. I keep hoping that he is, but now that the murder charges may be filed soon on Murray, it is really starting to sink in that Michael Jackson is gone forever. If they aren't filed that there is still hope, but I don't know how well I am going to take it if they are. I miss him every day. Last night and the night before have just been filled with tears. Just desperate tears, that Akon song was so so heart breaking that it just sent me over the edge. :(
I had to share with you guys, because I know you will understand.

I just refuse to let it be real... :sad1:

Here we go with Joe contradicting himself again. Now he says the kids ARE going to be there tonight. Who really knows... I am still against the idea because I feel it's going against Michael's wishes and a disrespect to him after all he did to protect his kids privacy as much as possible.

Michael Jackson's kids to honor father at Grammys
By Alan Duke, CNN
January 31, 2010 4:38 a.m. EST

Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- Michael Jackson's two eldest children will appear on stage Sunday night during the Grammy show tribute to their father, Jackson's father and others confirmed.

It would be the first public appearance for Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11, since their dramatic appearance at the memorial service 12 days after their father's death last summer.

The children were to appear at a much smaller Grammy event Saturday night to accept their father's Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, but Katherine Jackson -- their grandmother and legal guardian -- agreed to the change, a spokesman for the pop star's father said.

Instead, former Jackson manager Frank Dileo made the Saturday night appearance. He also told CNN the Jackson children would be at the Sunday night tribute.

No family members had been invited to take part in either of the Grammy tributes to Michael Jackson until last week when the Jacksons complained, a family source said.

"However, there has been some recent rumors that I am displeased with the idea that Michael's children are accepting the award on my son's behalf," Joe Jackson said in a statement to CNN. "On the contrary, I am very proud of my grandchildren. Katherine and I are the ones who initiated their participation."

The youngest of the three, 7-year-old Blanket, is not expected to attend the show, although that could change, a family source said.

Jackson's oldest son is expected to read a statement on behalf of the family during the Grammy tribute, the source said.

The children will not enter the Los Angeles Convention Center through the media-lined red carpet, the family source said. Instead, they will be escorted backstage by Katherine Jackson, the family source said.

When Paris Katherine Jackson delivered a spontaneous speech at the massive memorial in July, it was the first time the public had heard from the children. They were often hidden by veils or blankets when seen with their father.

"Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine," she said. "And I just want to say that I love him so much."

Recording Academy President Neil Portnow, who oversees the Grammy show, said Sunday night's Jackson tribute will be "an extraordinarily emotional, moving and fitting tribute."

Singers Carrie Underwood and Smokey Robinson are among several stars who will take part in the musical tribute.

A segment of a 3-D video produced by Jackson shortly before his death will be shown. It was based on his pro-environment "Earth Song" for use in his "This Is It" tour.

Michael Jackson was 50 years old when he died June 25, 2009, just two weeks before he was to begin a long series of comeback shows in London.

The Los Angeles County coroner ruled his death a homicide resulting from a combination of drugs, primarily Propofol and Lorazepam.

A criminal investigation has focused on Dr. Conrad Murray, his personal physician who was with him when he died, although no charges have been filed.

I went to my local Walmart today to do some shopping. While I was there I looked at the This Is It displays and there were VERY few DVD's left. I think the DVD has done really well. Michael should feel the love.

Celine Dion says she's feeling sad, angry about Michael Jackson's death

January 30, 2010

The Canadian Press, 2010

LOS ANGELES - Celine Dion says she's still sad and angry about the death of Michael Jackson.

The diva is set to take the stage along with Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Carrie Underwood and Smokey Robinson for a 3-D tribute to Jackson at the 52nd Grammy Awards on Sunday.

It will be the first look at the environmentally conscious "Earth Day" mini-movie Jackson created for his "This Is It" tour before his death last June.

After rehearsals on Saturday, Dion was asked how it felt to sing "Earth Day" while images of the King of Pop scrolled by on massive screens overhead.

"Very emotional," said Dion, clad in a grey embroidered T-shirt and jeans, with a white leather jacket and thigh-high grey suede boots.

"Very honoured and emotional at the same time. It's kind of an awkward feeling. Sadness, and mad at the same time that he was top shape.

"You see a lot through the newspapers and it's unfortunate sometimes that people have this (distorted) image, but Michael was on top of his gig and on top of his talent, and seeing the movie and seeing him, how top-shape he was, it's very difficult to accept."

Special glasses are available only in the United States at Target stores, so Canadian viewers might not get the full effect of the visuals, which feature a small girl dancing through a lush jungle and falling asleep to images of polar bears, elephants and zebras charging around onscreen.

The song, however, will still pack a punch. As Dion swayed and danced onstage alongside the others, the group harmonized with pre-recorded vocals from Jackson.

For Dion, Jackson was an "amazing source of inspiration." So much so, that she said he was part of the reason she decided to learn English.

"I wanted the same life - show business," she explained.

"I wanted to sing onstage like him. ... I wanted to be onstage someday with Michael Jackson, especially (to) sing onstage with him maybe one day."

Dion said she didn't want to meet the King of Pop and be unable to tell him how honoured she was because of a language barrier.

"It was because of him in a way that I went to school to learn English," she said.

The Grammy performance is difficult for her, the singer added.

"It is, because I'm not only a fan, but I knew him personally a little bit, I met with him, and it's difficult to know that he was doing perfectly well and that he's no longer with us," she said.

"It's just heartbreaking."

So she took one more opportunity to explain what made Jackson such a special performer.

"Michael was not only a great musician, he was a great dancer, he was a great visionary, he had every instrument inside of his body, he knew exactly what he wanted to hear, what he wanted to do, he was feeling everything," she said.

"I hear 'HOO,"' she says, imitating Jackson's signature high-pitched flourish. "I hear this, it's not even a song, but for me it means everything. ...

"He was very, very special. I'm a big fan of Michael Jackson, period. That's all I can say."

I dont think Ill ever accept that he's gone.
:(

I know, I don't think I can either. As long as I can listen to his music and watch the movie and all his videos I can keep him alive in my heart. It's hard sitting here watching the Grammy's and hearing them talking about the Tribute and watching his image on TV and all I can think is he should be here to accept that Lifetime Achievement Award himself. How could he really be gone?? :confused3 It's just not right. :sad2:

:sad1::sad1: Wow, that was great. I had tears in my eyes watching the kids. I know he is smiling down and them right now and is a very proud daddy. They did a great job. I know that had to be extremely difficult for them.

The kids are so sweet. I'm wondering though if they were reading off a teleprompter or were they reciting memorized speeches?

LOVED the kids on stage, and lionel richie introducing the tribute, but the tribute was seriously lacking. the king of pop deserves more than 1 song. the american music awards' tribute was much better, IMHO.

They did a good job with the song they did but I agree, he deserved more than one song. It should have been longer.

exactly! as many grammys as MJ won over the years, and they do a ONE song tribute? he deserved much more. it was beautiful, but just did not adequately convey the genius that was his life. my heart breaks for his children-they were so composed and humble. their daddy is looking down on them and feeling exceptionally proud tonight.
