We have not been planning on frothing or wailing, but I suppose we could if it is mandatory. . .![]()
Only mandatory if you are an obsessed loony fan.

Just got back. It was very interesting, and we all enjoyed it. I wish I'd ever managed to make it to a live concert. I'm telling you, the This is It concert would have been worth every penny. He was an amazing talent, and the concert would have been quite a production. I walked away with a different view on him as a person than I'd had before.
eta: No nutcase lunatic fans at our suburban movie theatre. Just a bunch of boring suburbanites. Although I don't really like someone profitting from his death, I was affected by the content, and am glad I saw it.

Me, wailing and my son, frothing will be there on Sunday!!![]()
We will wait for DVD.
As far as the "family cashing in on his death" - aren't profits going to his estate, then to be paid according to his wishes? That would make it seem that the profits from this concert are being spent exactly as they would have been if he were alive to perform - as he wished. Actually, the spending is much more controlled now than it would have been in that situation.
Who knows, maybe he would want it this way--with the world seeing what a great talent he was until the very end and still enjoying his music.
Hey Robin Baby,, I'm right there with ya.. I'll buy the![]()
DD and I went yesterday and I'd like to offer my viewpoint on it. I will declare that I have owned Jackson albums and been to one live concert (Dangerous tour) but would not ever have called myself a fan, by any means. DD was more or less unaware of him until he died.
I think it would have been a criminal waste if this footage had not been released.
It gives the fans who had tickets a chance to at least get a flavour of the concerts they were looking forward to so much. And it gives people like me the realisation that if the concerts had gone ahead and reports of them had started to come out, I would have been kicking my shins black and blue and trying to get hold of a ticket from WHEREVER, as they were going to be massive!
The 3D film bits they had filmed for the gigs were fabulous, the sets outstanding and the whole thing was just going to be awesome.
(Remember, this is from a non-fan, and I came out of the cinema gushing about how awesome those concerts were going to be.)
The amount of time, effort, talent (and yes, money) that went into developing this should NOT be wasted and it should be out there for people to remember that weirdness and troubles notwithstanding, this man was an entertainment genius.
I heard that he filmed it for his personal archive and so his kids would have a lasting record of what daddy did. I'm sure they will cherish the footage as it shows him doing what he did best.
(Steps down from soapbox, stands for applause in the spotlight, and fade out)
