Miami to Key West

DH and I are picking up a motorcycle in Miami and riding to Key West for a few days before we hit Disney World. Looking for any must see's or must do's along the way.
Has anyone done this trip on a bike before? Would love to hear any experiences!!

1. Take your time .... much of the overseas highway is two lane and getting in a hurry can mean getting in trouble.

2. Pay attention .... that two lane road is unforgiving if the driver decides to sightsee and wander.

3. If this is a summer event planned, and I see U R from the frozen north, watch out for sunburn and dehydration.....

4. Alabama Jack's on Card Sound road is a popular stop but is way at the north end of your trip so you might want to do it on the way back ..... and stay away from the bre if on a bike . . .

Know that driving in Miami is not fun, but it will get better! Stop at Robert is Here fruit stand in Homestead for yummy fresh fruit milkshakes - Strawberry/Key Lime and Pineapple were great. There is a marina in Islamorada called Robbie's where you can feed the tarpon. DH thought the idea of paying to feed fish was stupid, but was impressed with the experience. The tarpon are very aggressive and will come up out of the water. There are also pelicans around that will steal your feeder fish - DS lost one! Be sure to enjoy the sunsets, too.
