Miami Dade and Broward counties got the ALL CLEAR!! NO IVAN!

I do agree. I live in Delray Beach, and even though I got power restored last Monday, there's still qutie a few places not too far away from where I live that STILL don't have power.

At least it's comforting to know that Ivan isn't coming in this direction and affecting us S. Floridians in any way. There's so much trash left from Frances in front of my house, that it would definitely have made awful projectiles had Ivan decided to affect this area. So thanks for all the prayers and PD you guys used, it looks like it worked!!!

Of course, I am hoping that it doesn't affect the Panhandle too badly when it finally does make landfall, but according the the reports I've been hearing on the news, it really doesn't look good for people up there. So, for all of the DISers who live on the Gulf Coast and the Panhandle, good luck with Ivan, and I'll be praying that you all come out OK!!!!!

I am in Florida AND the panhandle, so Florida is not in the clear. The state capital is here and LOTS of wooded areas (trees that can cause mega damage). Many beautiful Florida beaches are in the western portion of the panhandle.

That is great to hear poor Jamaica and next Cuba Jamaica was hit really hard it was a CAT5 when it went through there. Now have they ever measured one stronger than a cat5?

We are still sweating it out here in NE FL.

UNfortunately, due to the decrease in forward speed, it adds a LOT of uncertainty into the predictions.

This storm can still go anywhere, from the Yucatan to Florida.

It is staying a bit south and sliding farther to the west than predicted, looking like it may miss Cuba entirely.

The farther west it goes, the happier I'll be, but that just makes it someone else's problem. If it hits in the Big Bend are of the panhandle, we wil STILL get ttropical storm force winds here, & I just got power back yesterday. Have NO idea when we will get phone service back. It may not be until October.

I don't wish this on anyone, but I'd like to have electricity for more than 4 days.
