Miam pre-cruise hotel

We are looking at three Hotwire areas: Doral, Brickell, and Coconut Grove. We will land in Miami around noon the day before the cruise and do not plan to rent a car. February so we know hotels will be expensive for most areas. Key things we are looking for are safe areas, walking to restaurants, and a place to pick up pre-cruise "beverages". Anyone have pros/cons for any of these areas?
