MHP Strategy

We are planning to go to our first MHP on Friday, 10/10. We will likely arrive at DLR around 2:30pm. Since we have AP's, we were thinking maybe we'd hang out in CA during the incredibly busy "overlap" time (4:00 - 7:00) at DL.

- Is this a sound strategy to avoid some of the really terrible crowds?

- If we do this, I'm concerned about lines at the turnstiles to get into DL for the party. Is there a time at which we should head over to DL to avoid crazy long lines for the party? Or do these start right at 3:30ish and last until the party starts?

- Is there a way for us to get our party wristbands early, and will this help us to speed entry to DL later on?

I've only done it once but I would arrive as soon as you can and just stay clear of Main Street to avoid the worst of the congestion. Maybe grab a dining res in the Park and bide your time.

That was what we did last year, except we didn't get a reservation. We used the time before the part to eat at Blue Bayou and do a little shopping. We rode Pirates once and were able to time it so we got our daughter to the princesses right when the party started and avoided the lines. It worked out really well, we will probably do it again this year.

Get into the park though main street and the hub as soon as you can. Get around to the outskirts of the park and enjoy yourself while avoiding the chaos of those leaving and coming in.

I would not go to DCA. Many people that don't have Halloween tickets and know DL closes early may plan DCA as their park for the day. And you do not want to be in lines waiting to get in and through main street.
