MGMs Beauty and the Beast LIVE Show

My 8 yodd thinks "Beauty and the Beast is a great show. The music is great!" She has a problem with the costumes for "Chip" and "Mrs. Potts" because their feet show! She really likes the preshow as well.

My DH and I really enjoyed the show as well.

I'm really surprised at the suggestion that this show is "cheesy" or "amaturish". I thought it was a well executed and well choreograghed abridged version of the movie. The costumes, I thought, were terrific - they looked just like in the movie (which is pretty hard when you are taking a character from a cartoon - take it from someone who had to make Blue Eyes White Dragon for Hallowe'en last year).

I happen to agree with most of the posters on this thread ~ the Beauty and the Beast show at MGM is great! Of course you can't compare it to a Broadway show. That is unfair. But for a 30 minute amusement park show it was fun! The stage is set, the costumes looked good, and the songs made us smile. There is no real acting out of scenes going on here, just songs from the movie.

And I might add that although there were plenty of children enjoying the show, there were many adults humming along. We were there with an 18 yo and a 13 yo. We left with a good opinion of it. Ask your Dad if he thinks it might interest him. If MGM and Disney things interest him, he might surprise you.

I saw B&TB on Broadway 3 years ago and I saw B&TB at MGM 3 days ago and of course you cannot compare the two, but I thoroughly enjoyed it anyway. It helped bring back memories of the Broadway version. I love B&TB no matter how it is done. It is my favorite animated Disney movie and I just LOVE the music.
