Just wondering where in MGM would anyone recommend eating. I believe I would like to try and get a ps for one of the better places. Also, this would be for President's Day, do you think I may already be out of luck? Since we only usually eat one big meal in the parks, we can be flexible with the time. Lunch or Dinner or inbetween.

we have enjoyed hollywood brown derby for lunch several times. you might have better luck requesting an off time for your meal. enjoy!! happy eating.:p

We enjoy Mama Melrose and Brown Derby for lunch. We find ourselves choosing Mama Melrose much more often though. Brown Derby has very good food but at a leisurely pace.

For dinner we go elsewhere in the World.:D

Hi there..

I vote for Mama Melroses as well.... I had a great artichoke pasta dish there! DD had good ole pizza.

I would not reccomend the commisary..... in a word blech!

>>^..^<<

Another vote for Mama Melrose. I had a great Rib Eye steak there last year prior to seeing Fantasmic.

We love Mama Melrose...and I don't think you'd have trouble finding a time to eat if you're flexible.
We love the soups....and we enjoy the "pizzas"...(more like flatbreads with toppings)....although they seem to get mixed reviews here.
Not an outstanding meal....but a very satisfying meal in a nice setting!

We have always enjoyed Mama Melrose's, Sci Fi and 50's Prime Time Cafe.

I recommend the Hollywood Brown Derby and 50's Prime Time Cafe.I have eaten at both restaurants several times and enjoyed the food and service.
If you can't get a PS prior to arriving, you could call the morning you want to go once you're at WDW, or stop by the restaurant itself or check at the Guest Information Board at MGM. You'll probably end up with something to your liking! Enjoy!

I also enjoyed Mama Melroses. We had lunch there once, had no ps just walked in and were seated immediately. It's a bit hidden and isn't as well known as the other restaurants. The place is pretty spacious so you aren't jammed in like other places. We had pizzas and enjoyed them immensely. Very nice atmosphere.

We absolutely love the 50s Prime Time. Little disappointed in lack of character by the server but the food and decor was AWESOME!!S'mores for dessert......mmmmm!!!!

Two big thumbs up for Brown Derby from DH and I---we eat here every trip. We love this restaurant! Mmmm..... Cobb Salad and Grapefruit Cake, yum! I wish we were going to Disney before November!

I would suggest to NOT go to Primetime Diner. Just didn't like the atmosphere. Kind of annoying and the food was nothing special. I would suggest Mama Melrose or Sci Fi also.

Thank you for all the suggestions. Since it seemed to be the big winner I pulled up the menu for mama melrose. When we arrive first thing in the morning I will attempt to get the ps for there.

If you want something a bit more upscale, I would recommend the Hollywood Brown Derby.

If you are looking for something fun, with good downhome cooked food, then go to 50's Primetime.

If you want something inbetween, then I would recommend Mama Melrose.

If you want a great character meal, then Hollywood and Vine for lunch is the ticket.

Avoid Sci Fi, though, unless you just want dessert.
