MGM to Wilderness Lodge?

We are staying at the Poly this year for the first time. For my son's birthday we have decided to spend part of the afternoon at MGM and then travel over to Wilderness Lodge for dinner at Whispering Canyons. How long does this usually take and what is the easiest way to get from MGM to Wilderness Lodge? Our reservation is for 5:00 p.m. What time should we leave the park to get there about 10 minutes early.

After dinner we are planning on returning to either MGM or Epcot (depending on hours and the length of dinner). Do we just hop a bus to do this?

Sorry for sounding so uninformed but this has me in kind of a tizzy since we have never travelled to Wilderness Lodge.

There is a bus from MGM to the WL. Disney has always told me to plan ne hour from one place to another. I would say at worst case 30-40 mins from Time you get to bus stop to WL. Thee worse case is you get to stop as bus leaves, the next bus is a little late and you get hung up in traffic. I am sure Tyler will help when he gets on. Have a great and magical trip.

Yep, you just take the WL bus from the parks to get there, and take a bus back to whichever park you want to see after dinner. If MK is open, there's the boat to MK, also. I'd agree with 45-60 minutes for the bus, allowing for the worst-case scenario. If you caught the bus at exactly the right moment, it might only be 15-20 minutes.

WL is gorgeous, so if you get there early, it's fun to explore the lobby and walk about to the pool and beach area. I could certainly be wrong, but I'd think that 5 PM is NOT a busy time, so if you happened to get delayed, it wouldn't be much of a problem. Depending on your son's age, another really fun thing to do (if you wanted to spend a little more time there) is ride the water sprites on the lake. You can do this at the Poly, too, but the lake area in back of the Contemporary and in front of WL is HUGE. Check out the boats and prices when you're at the Poly, to see if you're interested. The boat house might close at 5P, so you'd want to get there early enough to rent for 30-60 minutes.

Hope you have a great trip and a fun birthday meal!

Thank you all very much for the answer to my questions! The water sprites is a great idea! I will have to see if my DS is interested. We are really interested in looking over Wilderness Lodge in case we decide to stay there next time. Thanks again for all of your help!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc
