MGM to EPCOT - boat

We are thinking of going to MGM for the afternoon parade and then heading to EPCOT for our dinner reservation at Coral Reef. Can you tell me about the boat ride. Where does it drop you off at Epcot? How much time should we allow?

The boat will make three stops before heading to Epcot. It will stop at the Swan/Dolphin, Boardwalk, and Yacht/Beach Club (not sure if this is the correct order). The Epcot stop is at the International Gateway entrance to the park. You will enter the park between the France and United Kingdom showcases. I would allow at least an hour for transport between the two parks. You can also walk from Disney/MGM to Epcot. Its about a 30 minute walk.

The several times I have taken the boat from MGM to IG at Epcot, the ride itself takes about 30 minutes.

Yup, three stops.

Figuring in time to wait and walk to your restaurant, I'd allow 45 minutes to an hour.

I am pretty sure there is a bus that runs from mgm to the front of epcot. If you catch it right you might be better off taking the bus. It will be a shorter walk since you are going to the coral reef which is in future world. Someone hopefully will be able to confirm this.

Hi,

According to the PassPorter you can take a bus from MGM to the front entrance of EC. The Friendship Boat will take you to the "back entrance" called the International Gateway.

The boat can be nice & leisurely but I think the bus is most efficient.

Take the boat to the first stop and then walk the rest of the way. It is very long but relaxing.

Or, if you want to spend some money and save some time, take a taxi.

You can take either the boat or the bus, the bus will be the quicker way although the baot ride can be nice- the bus will also put you closer to the Coral reef.
