Hello,
On a Saturday in May, we will be at MGM and we have 6 p.m. tickets for Cirque du Soleil. I thought that we'd probably eat an early supper near Cirque. Could you please advise a good way to get there by Disney bus - I have to go to a resort first, right? Does anyone have a suggestion for location and time for supper (maybe Rainforest Cafe?) My kids are 15, 12 and 9.
Thank you very much!!

Yes, you have to go to a resort first. We like to stay at Old Key West and Saratoga Springs, which are both close to DTD. Take a bus to either one, and then it's just a quick bus ride or a boat ride (which would take longer)from either one to DTD. Give yourself plenty of time if you're doing a table service meal. A good place to eat that's quick and has great food and large portions for a good price is Wolfgang Puck Express (beside the Christmas Store in DTD).

Cirque requests that you be seated by 5:30 so if you are planning on eating at Rainforest--which is a great place, you are going to have to allow plenty of time. There is usually quite a lineup there and you won't get served and out in under an hour ----after you get seated. Voice of experience here.
I have tickets to take my grandson to Cirque in March and plan to grab something at a fast food place nearby. Rainforest is just too much fun to spend your time there being rushed and anxious.
I remember reading somewhere that if you are not seated 10 to 15 minutes before the show starts, they will resell your tickets. Cirque is quite a little hike from Rainforest as well.
If my memory serves me correctly there is a House of Blues almost next door to Cirque but you would have to get there early as well.

I would suggest you take a bus to Saratoga or French Quarter or Riverside. The bus to OKW we found looped all the way through the area and took a long time. At SSR, POFQ, or POR you can walk through the resort to the boat dock and hop on a boat to DTD or wait at the bus stop for a bus to DTD. You could also walk to the Boardwalk and catch a DTD bus from there. ( about a 13-15 minute walk).

As for dinner, we tried Raglan Road and really liked it. There is outdoor seating which is lovely and is an easy walk to Cirque.

Cirque du soleil is fabulous by the way!

The others have given some good advice - we especially like Wolfgang Puck's. We went to the 6 pm show with our twins who were 8 at the time. Cirque is fabulous!

Our guys had a reasonably nutritional "mini-meal" before and after the show, with some yummy popcorn during the show.

The show is 90 minutes (please check, but I think this is right) with no intermission. I wonder if you could have a hefty healthy snack (or not!) before the show and have your meal after? Your gang may be old enough to eat later on.
