watch it near star tours. Thats where the parade starts. If youre lucky enough to snag a bench along the route there, beware of birds overhead. We were sitting on a bench with another family. Thier little boy was eating a funnel cake when a bird pooed on it! BLECK!
If your dinner reservations coincide with a parade time, you can experience the parade and still make the reservations on time. First, understand the parade runs for a little under half an hour. So, if the parade is at 4:30 and your dinner reservations are at 5:00, you can theoritcially make it. First, position yourself on the side of the street that your restaurant is on. If you get caught on the opposite side of the street, you won't be able to cross. Also, make sure that you're as close to the restaurant as you can while still enjoying the parade. Also note, although the parade begins at a certain time, the farther down the route you are, the longer it will take for the parade to reach you and end.
Hate to break this to you but the parade was at 5:30 last week. I have seen it start at 3:30 and 4:30 as well. CHeck the parade schedule for the week when you get to WDW and maybe adjust your dining time if needed.
Thanks everyone!! You guys are great!!! I'll be there 8/22. It's supposed to start at 5 that day. I'll be on the correct side of the road to zip over to MM by 5:30. And we won't be eating funnel cake!!LOL We'll be saving room for a huge dinner. I can't wait!!!!
