OK. I was just reviewing my itinerary and realized that I didn't plan to see the Stars and Motorcars Parade at MGM. We do have the Fantasmic dinner package at Mama Melrose's on 7/27. Our AR time is 4.20pm. The parade starts at 5.30pm. Do you think there is a chance we will be able to make the parade right after dinner? Or should I try to adjust our dining plans to be able to see the parade? Also, did they change the parade route? I thought it used to go back by the backlot and looking at some new maps it looks like it starts at Star Tours and heads straight down Sunset Blvd. to the front of the park. Anyone know the exact parade route? Thanks!!!!!!

I am not sure if you would get out of dinner in time or not. We were there the week after Easter, and our lunch did not take long - maybe 45 min. However, we also found a spot for the parade about 45 min. early. It is a very good parade, and if you can make arrangements to see it, I would. You are correct that it starts by Star Tours and comes straight down to the main entrance.

When I called a month before our trip for the F. dinner pkg, I was given a time of around 4:20 - 4:30 too. We a)didn't want to eat that early, and b)wanted to see the parade, too. I was told by Disney Dining to call back two weeks ahead of time, esp. for a night w/two shows, to get a later time. I called June 2 to make a reservation for June 17, and I got my pick of times at any of the three restaurants from 5:10 thru 7pm. I would call them back and see if this is an option for you.

If you arrive 15 minutes or so early you should be able to be seated quickly and assuming you eat quickly, you should be out in about 45 minutes (wouldn't hurt to mention to your server you want to eat quickly because of the parade). You might consider sending the first person who is done to go find a spot for you in the parade.
