MGM or Animal Kingdom

MGM without a doubt!

I remember going to MGM when it was a new park and it didn't have all that much to offer and it was still in it's building stages. I feel that way about Animal Kingdom right now. It has a FEW great things, but it is new and still developing, and at this point in time can not fill a whole day's worth of activity and fun. I'm sure it will in time, especially with Everest added.

MGM however, has grown into a GREAT park with so many solid attractions. From Tower of Terror, Rockin' Roller Coaster, Fantasmic, The Great Movie Ride, Muppets 3D, Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, Star Tours, The Little Mermaid...the list goes on. It's a great park!

That's my 2 cents. The question is would any of you saying Animal Kingdom, put it above The Magic Kingdom?

A.K. by far for us. We spent one day there in 99, just went for Fantasmic in 2000, and just for RNR and Playhouse Disney in 2001. We have not been back since and do not plan on going anytime in the future . It is not about thrills for us at any of the DIsney parks, we do ride them if we can get on them, but we can go to Cedar Point if all we want to do is ride roller coasters (which top Disney coasters any day-we like Disney coasters but they are pretty mild compared to most of the ones at CP) and its a heck of a lot closer and cheaper . We will try to ride EE when we visit in Sept, but if we can't then we'll save it for next trip. We like the pace of A.K. other than the few rides, you can just take your time and enjoy the sights . We have a soon to be 13 yr DD, 6 yr DD and 4 yr DS and they all like just about everything at AK. For us its the perfect balance of rides, shows, and do it yourself attractions (boneyard, jungle trek, petting zoo, etc...). We don't have a favorite among the three parks (MK, EP, AK) we enjoy them all the same just differently. They each have their own appeal and we take each park for what it has to offer. Never been to IOA or US and don't know if we ever will but we have started going to Sea World and that is another don't miss for us now. (we used to have SW in Ohio but it closed a few yrs ago so we can only go now when we go to Fl. ) Try all the parks if you can and make your own decision. Different strokes for different folks !!

Never!!! :goodvibes MK IS Disney :earsboy: To me, MGM is outdated and I am always wishing they would update while I am there. I like the theming of AK and the slower pace. The Lion King show is top-rate and the parade is the best one in all DW. We like the rides, but that is not the main attraction for us. MGM seems to be show after show and very rushed. (JMO)

we are going to both parks in june, but what is ee ?

It really all depends on what you want to do. Animal Kingdom has an amazing, amazing, amazing amount of detail that is put into it. Very great park with some very cool rides. If you want tame rides, there's really no in between. If you go to this park, prepare for a very hot day and alot of walking.

If you like movies and such, then I'd say go to MGM. The Tower of Terror is the best ride in MGM (and in WDW if i had my say). Rock n Rollercoaster is okay, I'm not sure what the huge draw is. It's not really that amazing, just an inside roller coaster. I love the Great Movie Ride. MGM feels like Hollywood.

For me it's always MGM > AK

But I love Animal Kingdom too!

I'll put in my vote for the Animal Kingdom. :earsboy:

I enjoy both parks equally though.

I just voted for AK, right above you. :rotfl2:

Ak is a great place.....I love the shows there, fun casual attractions and I love the green everywhere.

I would have to say MGM. Okay, I'll admit, I haven't been to Animal Kingdom, so I guess I can't REALLY say, but I love MGM. It's fun. I love Rock n Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror.

MGM definitely. AK is actually my least favorite park. A trip to WDW isn't complete without the Tower of Terror, Rockin Roller COaster and Star Tours!

MGM definately - AK was our least favorite park - the safari was fun but the rest was like one big zoo.

MGM. I love MGM, great rides and wonderful shows, also some good places to eat. I like AK, but in all it is my least favorite, for me there is just not enough to do there even with all the trails and stuff.

If I HAD to choose.... :rolleyes2 I think it would be Animal Kingdom. DH would say MGM for sure but there is something about AK I could not pass up!

MGM, Mermaid show, belle show, Tot and RocknRoollercoaster :thumbsup2

I'de have to say MGM, my last visit to AK was a bit dull. I didn't feel as much Disney Magic. But MGM is great! With all the attractions I have to say MGM!

We just got back yesterday, and I am POSITIVE that the weather had a lot to do with it (it was hot at AK yesterday and I HATE hot! I was sweating to death and I actually heard someone say, "No, we're not riding Kali River Rapids! It's too cold!"...HELLO!!!? Okay I am from Illinois, but sheesh, it was hot yesterday!)

My dd5 and I LOVED MGM. She saw so many characters there and we just really had a wonderful time there. It was a gorgeous breezy day that day, too, though, so I know that biased me! (Guess who will NEVER be found at WDW in June, July, or August??) :teeth:

At AK, the safari was awesome, and so was Festival of the Lion King (dd got to help "teach" the audience how to do the hand-jive dance moves, and then got to dance in the finale with other kids...SO COOL!!!!).

But still, I think I prefer MGM.
