I have never seen either of these shows. We will be there next week and want to only spend a long afternoon/evening in the park. Are these both worth seeing with a 2 1/2 yo dd? And if so does anyone have a recent show schedule to let me know how early I should get to the park to see these and Playhouse Disney?

Thanks

They're definetly both worth seeing! The scare factor is minimal, as Mermaid was recently changed slightly to make it less scary.

For showtimes, try Steve Soare's site at http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/index.htm

You should get to the park about 30-45 minutes before the official opening time. Do the first Playhouse Disney show as that should be the least crowded(it gets worst as the day goes on). Get on that line about 15 minutes before showtime. For Mermaid and Beast, pick convenient show times and show up early for those as well.

Good luck!

I agree you should definitely try to see them both....if it ends up you can only make one I would choose Beauty and the Beast - but that's my personal favorite. I don't have children yet so I'm not sure which one they would like better. Probably whichever movie they like better.

Both of these shows are great and well worth seeing!!

Mermaid is my all time favorite. Just sentimental I guess!

As for Beauty, I am NOT a show person but a couple of years ago we went to see the show and I am hooked! It is now a permanent addition to our Studios Touring Plan!!

Have a great trip!!

If you don't see them for your 2 yr. old, see them for YOU!

After the R n R Coaster, Beauty & the Beast is my FAVORITE attraction at ALL the WDW parks! We saw the Broadway show and this is truly a mini-version of it.

ENJOY!!!!

I would suggest beauty and the beast show over the mermaid for your daughter, it gets dark in the mermaid show and it is cute, but beauty much more entertaining with dancing and singing..it is a shortened broadway type show..outstanding cast, choreography, and songs. I would say that if you are there 30 min before the show you will be fine, it is a big arena type seating

have fun :jester:

I think that your 21/2 will enjoy both shows. The little Mermaid does get dark, but I wonder that after the rehab that it went through, that it was supposed to be toned down a little. The shows are great and great fun. I enjoyed them and I'm 28!

How was Mermaid toned down? I guess i missed that thread....??!!

We just saw the show last week and i didn't notice anything too different......altho i really wasn't looking for differences, either.

We DID think there was more 'rain' and more often than previous years, and that was kinda cool!
