Has anyone tried to do MGM in two afternoon/evenings? With the choices of table service restaurants at MGM and the Boardwalk, I thought it would be fun to spend two evenings hitting some shows and having dinner. We are traveling in November, so I wasn't sure how late the park would be open or how late the shows would be running. I also wasn't sure how crowded the park would get later in the day.

What are your suggestions for visiting MGM? Our kids are younger, so at the top of our list is Playhouse Disney, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast. Of course, DH and I would love to squeeze in a ride on ToT and RnR coaster!

Much Thanks!

Not sure if this would work. Depends on how early you mean when you say evenings I guess. Some of the show run until 5, 5:30. or 6 pm.

Maybe the hours will be longer when you go, but when we went in February the parks were open to 7 pm. Here's a list of the last show out of the times guide for the week we were there:

Backlot tour open 10-5
Beauty and the beast 5:30 pm
Indiana Jones 5:30 pm
Mermaid 6:30 pm
Playhouse Disney 5 pm
Millionaire 6 pm

I also still have a times guide from early June 2002. Here's the last show times for that week:

Backlot tour open 10-8
Beauty and the Beast 6:15 pm
Indiana Jones 4:45 pm
Playhouse Disney Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed, and Sat last show 5 pm,
Thurs, Fri. last show 4:45 pm

Mermaid 7:35 pm
Millionaire 7 pm

Hope this helps

Also, my youngest enjoys the playground at Honey I shrunk the Kids movie set and the Muppets 3D. Now she is old enough (9) to do RNR but won't even go through the preshow at TOT.

When in November are you going? During Soap Weekend and Thanksgiving weekend the hours are usually later. However, during the rest of the month, they're pretty early. So, many of the shows have their last preformance by dinner time. I guess it would depend on what time you may be thinking of arriving.

Thanks for the info! We are going to be there 11/5 thru 11/10. I am curious as to how late the parks will be open. Are those hours available three months in advance? I also can't wait to get a times guide schedule. Is there anyway to get that prior to arriving at your resort?

I would check ahead of time to see what times shows will be running until. You could always get to MGM around 3:00ISH and hit a show or two then eat (if they take ressies at park closing) around 7:00 if that is when the park is closing. 50's Prime Time is alot of fun and we enoyed the food both times we went.
Good luck!
