MY MGM Studios Dining Review
There will be a 1-5 star rating included
(1* being the worst 5*'s being the best!)

This was spread out through an 10 day vacation, please don't think
we ate all this in one day!! We did a majority of our dining at MGM
as we are attempting to try all the restaurants and CS places at
all the parks, this year our attempt was to kill of as much of MGM
as we could!!

Counter Service:

Studio Catering Company:

Star Rating: *****
Service: The registers were ALL open and they were friendly order
takers! By the time i was done ordering and reached the counter, my
food was already there! it was quite amazing at how busy they were
that they were still able to be so speedy! The condiment counter
was stacked and the tables were clean!

Ambiance: Though it was incredibly hot outside and this place is
outdoors, you would never have known it as it was perfect! the
Eating area was covered and the tables were in the shade!
it felt great!

Value: A+ We found that for the money, this place was excellent!
DH and i both had wraps and though they looked teeny they were
SUPER filling! I didn't even finish mine!

Meal Served: Lunch. Though it was busy there were still tables
available, it was a very big place.

We would definately return here again!

**More to come!**

ABC Commissary:
I was STARVING and craving chicken strips, not that
many though as we had just eaten haha..so i made my husband run in
and get me a kids meal!! YIKES! i know it's dishonest, but i was
craving and pregnant and knew i couldn't eat anymore than that.

Star Rating: ** (since it was a quick bitei can't really judge on it)

Service: My husband was in line and outside at the tables with
condiments in like 7 minutes so it was great timing! He said everyone
inside was really nice and teasing him about a big guy like him
getting a kids meal! haha.

Ambiance: We ate at the outdoor tables, and it was alright, the table
was clean, though it was a bit hot, but DD was with DH looking at
Sully while I ate, so that was pretty cool.

Value: For the ammount of food i got and the price of the kids meal i
would have to say this was fantastic!

Meal Served: Sanck during lunch time. It was busy but my only complaint
is abut the guests go figure! WHY DON'T PEOPLE THROW AWAY THEIR TRASH?
After we ate i must have picked up two or three trays full of peoples
garbage that they left after eating?! I find this horrible! there is
NO EXCUSE to be a slob! Do these people act like this in their homes?
OK off my soapbox!-- yes we will eat here again!

**Stay Tuned!**

Catalina Eddies/Rosie's:

Star Rating:***

Service:SLOW SLOW SLOW..this place we find every year to be very
busy and always super slow! The condiment counter ALWAYS needs to
be cleaned and the ketchup is always low! But the food is good. CMs
are hot and always seem to want to be elsewhere.

Food Had: Burger and fries for me YUMMMYYYY with mayo on the fries!
Pizza for DH and he said it was good and he could eat two! (but he
didn't want to wait in line again!!)

Ambiance: Outdoor eating, but it was too crowded and tables were a
mess and the birds are everywhere! YIKES!! It's very hot here in this
dining place, but it's a GREAT place to people watch!

Value: The pizza and burgers were priced fairly for WDW and worth the
money

Meal Served: Dinner

We would probably not try this place again as each year we try it
we are disappointed by the service/cleanliness. We always want to give
it another try though :)

***One More Counter Service to Come!!***

Thanks for your reviews, DisneyMommyMichelle, and I'm really enjoying the format (listed by park) - I hope this is just the first of many, since you were on a 10 day trip!

I'm glad to see someone else agrees with me about the Studio Catering Co. - so nice to finally have a really good CS option in MGM. Also, mayo on fries - mmmmmmmm.

Pizza Planet:

Star Rating:****

Service: CM very friendly seeing as how we arrived right before close!
Everything was clean and inviting.

Food Had: pizza for DH/and just a soda for me, with a bite of his
pizza!! I got my soda in a goulish gatherings souvenir mug! i'm
a sucker for these things! and Mickey is a VAMPIRE! how cute!

Ambiance: The arcade area was a bit noisy but fun to watch from
the eating area above! We also loved getting our pics taken with the
green army men right outside! that was fun! (they must have been HOT)

Value: We tried it, but would probably not eat here again, the value
was right on target with other CS places, but something about the
place made it just a one stop shop. Definately not the food or the CMs though..it just lacked a certain something!
Meal Served: After dinner snack for DH :) he eats all the time!

**Table Service to come soon!**

LiteBrite: Thanks for reading! and we did a lot of eating! so there are more to come!
I only get a chance to type though when the baby is down and i have a free moment! so they will might not all be up in good timing!
Have a great day and i hope everyone enjoys!!

MMM...the mayo thing began for me on a trip to Amsterdam, and now i'm hooked! sometimes i still have ketchup though!

Yesterday I began the Table Service REviews and lo and behold i get all those crazy messages that tell me it's a duplicate post or that i can only post every 5 minutes or whatever! haha i also got plenty of error messages so i gave up and decided to type in NOTEPAD and paste from there..Well today i see that it did post yesterday, so here is a link to my Table service reviews!

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?p=10451448#post10451448

Enjoy!

I have also Cut and PAsted from the Above link if it does not work for you! Have a great day!Hi all! This is my MGM dining review!
Everything is rated out of 5 *'s (1 being bad 5 being fabulous!)

50's PrimeTime Cafe:
Star rating:***
Service: was wonderful! Drink refills came often and the food was served hot!

Food: DH and i both ordered the meatloaf and though it was served hot it was just okay..we have had much better. DD seemes to really like it though

Ambiance: Now this is obviously what you pay for!! haha it was fun and inviting and the bathrooms were clean and stocked with TP!

Value: you are definately paying more for where you are than the food and it just wasn't worth it THAT much...

We probably would eat here again when we ran out of other places to try, but it is not on our top ten list.

Meal Served: Lunch and the wait time was about 5 minutes with no ADR

Sci-Fi Dine-In:
Star Rating: *****

Service: The service was fantastic with Drinks and food, but not very personable..which was too bad.

Food: We both had hamburgers and both were cooked to perfection and the fries were YUMMY! It came very fast and was hot hot hot! DD loved her french fry! The burgers were not as good as beachs n cream, but were still delish!

Ambiance: WE LOVE IT HERE! we always insist we will try a new restaurant but of course we had to come here! it is too great!! we sat in the tables in the back cause DD needed a highchair and we wanted to also bring the stroller in. It was still fun! Didn't get a chance to try out the bathrooms though

Value: Okay yes this place is expensive if you go just for the food, bu i think the ambiance is what makes up for it! we have been here plenty of times before and will most likely keep on going! it's too fun and good to pass up.

Meal Served: Dinner. quoted a 30minute wait time but only waited about 10 (which we almost missed since we ran next door to the Book Store to buy: The Quotable Walt Disney!!)

MAMA Melrose's Ristorante Italiano:
Star Rating ***

Service: The service is what gets this place the three stars! we had a fabulous waiter at one point i had two full glasses of Sprite at my table because i was dying of thirst in the heat and i kept on drinking them down!! The food was served HOT and he even talked to our DD who is only 9months and not really interested in much! haha.. We had ADRS for 1230 but arrived early and sat on the bench outside at 1130 and i started getting sick (pregnant+heat+no food= very sick woman) and was sweating and had to find a bathroom to get sick in (the hostess must of overheard cause she opened the door and let my DH and DD sit inside in the AC and helped me get to the bathroom (i didn't eat breakfast cause i didn't want to be to full for lunch). She changed our ADR to 12 (when they opened) and got me a glass os Sprite and a pice of bread until they could seat us!! A+ service all the way!

Food:
Appetizer: Tomatoes and Mozzerella--THIS WAS DIVINE! everything was sooo fresh and delicious it was about 100times better than what i've had at my FILs place (100% Italian family). DD LOVED the tomatoes!

Main Course: Chicken Bruschetta Now this is what i ordered and i loved it MINUS the greens and vinagrette they served it with, i was not a fan of that stuff. DH had the Sicilian Sausage and he must have finished it in record timing AND he was FULL!>!?!?! (my husband is one of those guys that NEVER gets full so this was amazing!)

Could not make it towards dessert so it ends here!

Ambiance: Ehh..nothing too creative, but the restrooms were clean and the tables were spaced far enough apart that i didn't accidently put my fork into the neighboring tables meal!!

Value: In MPO i find the $$ to be too much for what was served. Even though the service was good! However the menu also needed to be more abundant. There wasn't much of a selection. We will probably never go here again, unless they get more items on it.

Meal Served: Lunch. Already explained wait time above.

just trying to figure out are they "hot " like "oh baby" hot, hot like 90 degrees or was it supposed to be "not" :rotfl:

thanks for the reviews...we have a hard time with mgm counter and might try the mediteranean one next trip

HAHAHAH!! sorry about that, i meant temperature hot! they were just cranky! and i know what you mean about CS and MGM, but the mediterranean place was just OMG great!!!

I had the same thing happen for weeks. I could reply to a thread, but not post a new one. Finally -- yeah, I can be slow! -- I checked the Tech Board on here & found a long thread about it.

You need to shorten your thread title to 1 word or something, post, then go edit your thread title. Worked for me.

Another great DisBoard tip (not my own -- I learned the hard way first!) -- always copy your post to clipboard BEFORE you click Submit.

THANK YOU so much for posting about the CS at MGM. We've been stewing over that. Glad to hear the new place is good. Sounds yummy.

CdnMom2: Thanks for the tip, i have decided to just type everything in my NotePad on the computer and then i can just cut and paste and i can work offline too!

Thanks for reading the reviews and i'm glad i could help someone!

Thanks for taking the time to post your reviews, I really enjoyed reading them. :flower:

SwankyBeth--thanks for reading! glad i could be of help! i always find other peoples reviews to be informative!
