I've looked through the menus and just don't see anything that really interests me at MGM for CS. We plan to be there one morning until around lunch and then hop over to MK for the afternoon with CRT for dinner and then Wishes. Should we eat at MGM before we leave, or do CS at MK where there seems to be more choices. My main concern is that we will be hungry on the bus ride. (We are not big breakfast eaters; Fruit or cereal bar in the room before leaving for the parks.) MGM opens at 9am and we'll probably need at least 3 hrs there before leaving for MK. Any ideas? or are the CS at MGM better than I think?

Hi,

The only counter service place that we will still eat at is the Backlot Express. The burgers are good and they have inside seating if you want to get out of the heat. Other than here I could not agree more that the counter service options at the studios are lacking.

I'd wait for MK, really. Grab a pretzel or a Mickey bar if you get the munchies to take on the bus and eat when you get to MK. I think all the CS at MGM stinks LOL ;)

I'm not a fan of CS at MGM. If I eat there it's usually at the Backlot Express. They do now have the CS back by the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground open with a "New" menu. Have no idea what it's like or what hours they are serving. hopefully someone will post a menu soon.

Hi
The counter stands on Sunset Boulevard do an ok selection, the Touluca Turkey Legs Co, i think is the best.

I believe I read where you can take a boat form MGM to Beach Club, if that is the case I know for sure my DD and I will be doing that and eating at Beaches and Cream. I read where they have both CS and TS, but not for sure.

I agree the counter service at MGM isn't very good. We usually just stick to a soft pretzel while we are there. Even my cheapo husband agrees that if we're doing MGM for an extended period of time, he'd rather go to Sci Fi Dine Inn or 50s Prime Time than subject us to the counter service. Whatever you do, avoid the turkey leg place. It's very simple. Hot dogs, turkey legs and drinks. But it takes forever. I think they take every single speed challenged Cast Member and stick them there.

The menu at the Backlot Express is Caribbean based. Very unusual. But you can get a pretzel from New York Street (or whatever they are calling it now) and enjoy in the seating area. Another option is to pick up some pastries at Starring Rolls.
