Ok well most of you know that on the backlot tour in MGM you watch that thing first where they pick a few people to go and do that water stunt show. Has anyone ever done it or had the opportunity too, or does anyone know how you get picked to do that? I really wanna try and do it on our next trip!! :)

Yes, I did it 10 years ago and my husband did it 7 years ago. Both times we were in the very front of the line and they came up to us and asked us to participate. Its a lot of fun!

SkipperBubba pirate: and I are regulars on the Backlot Tour Water Fun Circuit. :teeth:
When you get to the top of the queue, pull off to the side and flag down one of the CMs. Tell him/her you'd like to volunteer. You may have to wait for the next group to go through, but it's worth it. The Skipper and I have both been PT captain and engineer (he actually has a great picture of me in the booth with the water frozen inches from my face). It's loads of fun.
Enjoy,

We got picked out of line to do this in 2002. We were on our honeymoon and had the bride and groom mickey ears, which helped, I think!

It was lots of fun, but no one else was with us so we didn't get any pcitures or anything.

We've done it twice. Each time we basically just came up and got in line. We were near the front of the line and a CM came by and asked if we wanted to participate.

Picked both times during my last two trips. Just be near the front of the line and look like someone who would volunteer. It's good times.

My boyfriend did it in March. When we were walking in, he asked the CM if he could volunteer for the next one. He told him sure and he got the next one. :) But it ends up taking a longer time than if you weren't to volunteer, because you have to wait for the next one, and then you end up having to wait longer to go on the actual tour portion because everyone who was watching the show is now ahead of you in line.

DH & I got picked in 1998 we were the only ones in line and the CM asked us if we would like to do something special before the tour. We still talk about how much fun it was. The only problem is, is that you don't get to see yourself. I wish they would give you a tape or something

On 7/12 they asked for four volunteers over age 18. Just being fast about raising hands seemed to do the trick.
