Mexico Lindo 10/23/2011 MR Cruise!!!

Hi all,

We are all very excited forbthe trip. Finding costumes for the trick or treat and pirate night. Even purchased gifts for the exchange.

Other info about us:
Stacey celebrating 45th birthday on October 24. Also celebrating 7 year survivor from breast cancer. It is national breast cancer month.
DJ (BFF) is excited to do nothing but read a book.
Ethan (8) is excited to miss a week of school. He can't wait to be at the kids club.

Stacey:wizard:

Stacey Congratulations on being a 7 year survivor!!

You will love the 7 day. There is such a big difference from the 4 day - I find that I am really just starting to relax by the 3rd night which is when I have to start thinking about packing up on the 4 day - but on the 7 day it isn't even half over!!! :thumbsup2

That's pretty much what we were thinking, too. There is so much to do that by the time you start to feel comfortable with the surroundings, it's time to leave! We are really excited to be on the 7 day. We have another one planned for Alaska on the Wonder next May. We're even goofy enough to be excited about reaching Gold status soon, too :-)

So over the past month or so, I have been reading just bits and pieces of this thread here and there... I never even thought about a costume!!! OMG! That sounds so fun, but I am gonna have to rack my brain to come up with something...

Thanks Goodness I am traveling solo and don't have to worry about costumes for anyone else! I give you working wo:thumbsup2men credit!!

I hope this is the right one..we are going on the October 23, 2011 Wonder to PV and Cabo. So excited...our first Disney cruise and my fourth cruise. So, how do find out how many fish extenders there are so far? We want to bring stuff to put in them.
:wave2:

Lolaleigh if you look back at post #411, there is information on everyone participating.

I just found this site and learned about the fish extenders. Is it possible to sign up and join in the fun? Thanks

I know! I wasn't even thinking about costumes besides pirate gear. I don't know if I will get my act together enough for adult costumes. We'll see...

Hi Lolaleigh! :wave2: Welcome to the thread!! :cheer2: I think the cut off for the FE was Oct. 1st but hopefully Tara will chime in (she is in charge! :)). We might accept late comers. Also read back over the thread popcorn:: there is a ton of info to take in. :teacher:

Hey West Coast Mama
Thanks...I did. She said she would post something to see if everyone would allow us to do it. I'll make a FE anyway for my kids and put stuff in it. They are 14 and 10. I'll bring stuff for them to put in the other ones. They would love to do it. It sounds fun to be able to meet people right away, especially for the kids. Our last cruise was Norweigian and the kids clubs were awful. My son, 14, is certain it will be the same way and my daughter, 10, won't leave my side if it isn't fun. But I have a feeling this will be different...not really worried about. On a different subject...since you live in SOCal...maybe you can help me. We are flying into LAX on Friday. What are the essential things to do when you only have a day and a half. We are staying over by the port and renting a car so we can get around easily. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks..Lolaleigh

Welcome aboard!! :cool1: Our last cruise we booked last minute. The FE was already closed. But almost everyone added us to their list. This is our 5th cruise but only 2nd one with the kid and second FE. It was so much fun last time! I propose do what we did last time. Folks can add your family to their list if they can. Tara? What does everyone think?

Whew! Back from my whirlwind 3 day Carnival cruise and man am I pumped up more than ever! Let me tell you Carnival is no DCL. I am now caught up with our thread.

Bessiam I have put you and your family down for the Scavenger Hunt. FIY for all cruisers I am continuing to accept participants through the week before the cruise. My primary concern is having enough handouts for everyone. I will hand out the handouts :rotfl: at our first DIS meet before sail away.

I am so excited to meet all of you. It would be great if more people posted pics so we can recognize each other at the terminal. :grouphug:

I was also thinking it would be fun to wear name tags @ our meets with our DIS name on it. I can bring a package of name tags and sharpees.

:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:
Wavebands!! Yay 3:30, anyone else upload pics? My three year old has already packed his suitcase! (with all toys) haha....

We only do 7 days now. It's sooooo wonderful! The 10 day Med was great too... But too chicken to fly 13 hrs with a three year old... Maybe when he's six.

Hi this is my first time to the website and the first to cruise on disney...we are so exciteed and looking for anyones tips of things not to miss on the ship or what food ..is a MUST HAVE....anyone ever went the week of halloween before? what to expect for the Halloween party and the Pirate party... Thanks so much and i look forward to hearing from you:dance3:pirate:
Welcome aboard!!! :grouphug: I am about to start counting down days! Attending the pirate party is a must! Don't eat too much dinner, after the show and fireworks they serve a dinner and dessert buffet up on deck. It's a late night but so worth keeping the kids up.

for those of you that have been to Cabo on DCL... how close do you "anchor" to the arch? DH really wants to get good pics of the arch.. and I do to.. but not sure if it is necessary to take the water taxi over to the beach when you cant (shouldnt) even swim there.. someone told me of a great beach resort to get day passes at that has beach and pool access along with all you can eat drink all day.. for a great price... so Im thinking that would be a good option if you can get good pics from the boat of the arch... :confused3:confused3

I feel like a kid in the backseat of the car... are we there yet, are we there yet! Only a couple weeks away!

Anyone have tips on the spa? Should I book all our treatments ahead or wait until on the ship for specials?

Stacey

The Disney ship tenders very close to the arch! We woke up to it right outside our verandah. Very easy to take pictures from the ship. I heard the beach isn't swimmable. For us it would be hard to taxi there and not want to get out. :-) Taking pictures from the ship was fine. I think I posted one we took from the ship. I'll look for it.
