Mexican Riviera July 20, 08...Hola Amigos

ok all - haven't been able to link it but if your interested in reading go to the thread 8/17/08 Captain Jacks Repositioning cruise. Or something like that - anyway, the first page is set up for recaps and other useful info. Scroll all the way down to the bottom where the recaps have been posted - look for recaps between 41001 - 42000 there once it opens you'll find a review of HoJo by eeyorlvr10 (that's me :wave2:) and you can click on the link provided. It''ll take you to the information I typed. I also took some pictures if anyone is interested. Just let me know. The pictures are supposed to be linked also but its taking some time.

Thanks eeyorelvr10! We were actually considering staying in one of the DL resorts. Is it worth it, or are they pretty much like any of the other hotels around? I'll have to ask the others about Knots Berry Farm. That's part of my problem I don't know anything about the area and what there is to do!:confused3 Would appreciate suggestions on what else there is to do in the area. There will be 4 adults and 3 children ages 7,7, and 11. We plan on meeting up with the rest of the party later. How outrageous is the traffic in that area?

The traffic is terrible...but as long as your driving long distances you'll be fine. We like to stay at the Disneyland hotel but also at the Grand Californian. Go to Expedia.com click on Hotels..than click for attractions, put in Disneyland and you will see all the hotels in the area also you will be able to look at the pictures and remarks and they are less cheaper.

We always book them through expedia. Be sure to check prices with the hotel also just incase they are running a special.

We go to DL about 3 times a year and are getting ready to go again...need my Disney fix. We will be going while the kids are on spring break so it will be very crowded but thats okay...thanks to the fast pas. Nor sure which Hotel we will be staying in but that will depend when I chek it out. We can book last minute since we can just drive there....we are 2 hrs away in SanDiego.

Thje 3 DL properties are all fine and get great reviews....If you like Downtown Disney than I say DL hotel...also can catch the Monorail outside of hotel in DT disney or youi can walk to the parks. The 2 Parks are not like at WDW where you need to take buses to ...they are steps away from each other....:thumbsup2 and attached to DT disney.

Well I looked to see about going to DL during Spring break and the hotels are all boked up except for a few rooms at crazy prices...I expected that though because it is spring break so may just drive up there for the day or stay off property....I do love staying on property though!!!

Think we may just do Sea World cause have season passes and also only 20 minutes away...it wont be my Disney fix but I do love spending the day there....

And can always go later in the day as the crowds weed out with no problem and stay till closing and have a short drive home:thumbsup2

May have to wait till spring breack is over and find time to go....theres always the summer......

well it's me again...well I went ahead and booked 2 nights at DL GrandCalifornian using my DVC pts for April 3 and 4th....just could not help myself:banana: We will do SeaWorld the first week they have off on Spring Break.

Not sure if Dh is going to go or not...he workds for himself but can loose up to $900 a day if he does....but he does like to go and play also..so may just have to squeeze him in.....:)

So if anyone is there when we are let me know and we can meet for a Howdy moment....:thumbsup2

How does the Grand Californian compare to the Grand Floridian? I've stayed at the Grand Floridian and thought about the Californian and was curious how they compared.:confused3

Hey all! I was reading your thread and I thought I would put in my two cents! I think the GC is one of the nicest hotels around DL, it's not the GF, it's more like the WL or maybe AKL........My family visited Knots Berry Farm and my kids really liked it but I was really disappointed, it was nothing like DL to me..........hope that helps!!!

Thanks for the input...we can never get toooooo much of that...and you are always welcome here :thumbsup2

I agree with jlawall.....on both counts...although we do like Knotts but will do one or the other but not both.....if coming to DL I would maybe drive to SanDiego....after 10:00 in the morning....and head back after 8:00 at night...and visit the Sandiego zoo or Sea World.

Universal Studios is also very popular and that is closer to DL, and can avoid a 2 hr drive....or longer.

If you decise to stay off sight of DL again there are alot of great really nice Hotels around DL and they will shuttle you back and forth and you will also say a boat load of money.

We would not have stayed onsight this time if not for our DVC pts....

Here are ssome links here...this is for hotels around the area on this board

This is for all the parks and such around like Universal,Knotts, the zoo and etcetera...

Hello everyone...
Well we have 2 things to be happy about...we are one day closer to our cruise, and also it is Friday :woohoo: ...Yay for both:thumbsup2

I have been checking out around the boards and have been finding lots of info new and old on out cruise. I can't wait to start making my door magnits again...that is fun. Iknow sounds like I have nothing better to do and that if making magnits is so exciting that I must have a preety boaring life....

Well I love making the magnits cause I can escape from my everyday exsistance(sp) of 3 kids, 3 dogs, 2 cant 2,fish and my Dh and also outr 83 yo Roommate and must not forget away from cleaning my 2 story 5 bedroom house ....

I cover my cabin door and they look great. It's also fun to make and put on.

If anyone needs some tips on making the magnits let me know. We should also come up with a magnit that is for all of us DISers on this cruise.

So anyone else out there have to get there passports ? We have always just used out BC...seemed a waste to use the $$$$$ for that...would rather just use the $$$ on the cruise. That is why we never have bothered. Once you show it, it just goes back into the safe anyway till it is time to leave and you pack it again:confused3

I beleive that Adults will need them but not kids....have to check the ages for that...does anyone know?

Well I hope you all have a great weekend...I will catch ya all later...

:hippie: peace out :rotfl:

Hey Everyone!!

I am 2 weeks out from my 1st criuse ever on RCL with my girlfriends!!! Can't wait, dieting frantically and hoping not to gain it all back in 3 days...

Got Disney, I love the idea of the door magnet, I'm just not very creative...As we get closer I look forward to your tips...

As far as passports, none for us yet...I am hoping the regs will change for cruising for 2008 so we won't need to get them...I don't know about the kids...I think later this year there will be more info out.. We will apply in Dec. if the regs don't change...I hear Feb. - June. are the busiest time for passport applications...

Have a great weekend!!!
We are off to Disneyland April 6th!!!

Can I hide in your suitcase...please

So ho many of your friends are going and how many of them have cruised before? Where are you sailing to again?

Passports are needed for cruising in 2008 unless the US Govt. changes the regs later this year. There are 4 gals going..2 of them still haven't gotten their passports and don't have birth certificates either...I am just traveling w/my original birth cert. and DL. We are leaving out of LA to Ensenada for 3 nites...just a weekender but I need as much girl time as possible...Robin, you can try to fit in my suitcase but I am going to fill it with booze:banana:

I am out numbered at home with 2 boys, hubby, male dog, & male beta fish...

Almost time for the kids bed and jacuzzi time:cheer2: :cheer2:

Hello Everyone!:hippie:

I've been thinking of posting but my life is crazy busy as usual!

I've thought some about magnets, but I will probably be scrambling at the end to make them. Since I'm a teacher I will probably wait until the summer to make them.

We went ahead and got passports for the whole family before our last cruise. We didn't really need them at the time, but figured it wouldn't hurt. Maybe this way I can talk my DH into going overseas!!!:confused3

I wish I was going somewhere soon! I've got travel fever:goodvibes

The only thing we're doing is going to a cardinal game over Spring Break. I am going to Idaho this summer to visit family so at least my family is going somewhere!

I'm here!!!
Busy working, trying to buy another timeshare and getting ready for my cruise!!! Hope you're all well!!!

Need my Disney fix:cool1: Also time to get some spring cleaning done and such since I can sleep in till when ever I want(8:00 instead of 6:00) works for me,ning and see ya if you pop in:thumbsup2
