Mexican Riviera Cruise April 3, 2011

from the Disney site.

Promenade Lounge, an elegant Art Deco venue located on Deck 3, Aft on the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder, is the perfect place for families to enjoy a refreshing beverage or snack, surf the Internet or partake in fun activities that occur throughout the day.

Wave phones aren't cell phones, they are "free" (unless you lose them) phones provided in your room to use ll over the ship. There are 2 per stateroom, and some of the other levels have more... I think you can also rent additional ones if you get there early enough.

**edited to add
they are cell phones, but they only work on the ships network.

Thanks for the clarification. Never heard of them. I know there are phones in the room and around the ship, but my kids are typically all around the ship. Have you used the wave phones are the ship? Where do you get them? The walkie talkies have always worked for us. :)

We will need to rent another wave phone, does anyone know hoe much they are? We need three.

DDIR, will you be at the meet? My DD(22) is a photography student (2 more quarters then no more tuition:yay:). I know she is planning on taking a ton of photos this trip. I'd love it if you had time to chat with her about yoyr work.

Got to thinking about it last night and as many times as we've been on the Wonder, I began to wonder. It's probably a dumb question, but is the promenade where we initially come onboard?

:)

lucky girl!!!! heehee i'm gonna try NOT to take a ton of photos on this trip (haha) but we'll see how long that lasts. i would love to talk to her... we are definitely gonna try to make the meet/greet, our assigned boarding time is 1:30 so i hope we get on in time. if not, leave a note at our room and we can try to hook up.

cruise cowboy, hi... a couple more questions:

1. how has disembarkation been? we would like to be on the road by 9:30 if at all possible, do we have to try to get early-off luggage tags (if that is even possible)

2. liquor store at PV - did you notice if they have a decent wine selection... doesn't have to be great, just decent... (i know baja has some really good wineries these days, oh and if you like corona beer... it's different in mexico, i think better, try it!)

thanks so much.

No...the promenade is a bar area with tables. They usually have a singer there at night and it's also where they have some computers. I believe you walk past it on teh way to Animators Palate. I know we have waited there for excursions. It's a lounge area.

Answers:

1 - 9:30am is a stretch. I would recommend you opt to haul your own luggage off and so you don’t have to wait. Just be ready on deck 3 midship at 8:30 and when the gangway opens, just walk off. You must have all your own luggage with you. If you have an early flight, and can prove it, guest services will give you priority. Still, walking with your own gets you off way earlier.

2 - The wine selection in the grocery store in PV (named SS, which is outside the terminal to the right) is excellent. Rows and rows. Again, avoid Walmart :-)

Does anyone know if the alcohol has to be unopened? We want to premix some drinks but are worried that this is not ok.

As long as its packed in your luggage and given to the porters before you check-in, it should be OK. I had a 1/2 bottle of wine in my suitcase and had no problems.
