Mexican restaurant with volcano at Epcot?

I would love for San Angel Inn to be great. The atmosphere is just so cool and I love Mexican food (by that I mean the Tex-Mex variety). It's been over 15 years since I last ate there, and I don't remember much about it, but just being there was fun. My crew are not big Mexican food lovers so I don't when I'll ever get back there, but I'd love to hear more experiences from people who have been more recently.:earsboy:

At Epcot inside the Mexican pyramid there is a restaurant next to Rio del Tiempo and it has the volcano smoldering in the background. I can't remember the name of it now. Is the food there decent? Or the other new one they built on the water's edge? Which one would you choose?

We ate there once and the food was a little pricey. The food was not that good either.I guess your better off at the new one. That's just my opinion and my experience there.:sad2:

I have been to San Angel Inn several times and enjoy it. It is refreshing to not have the same old Tex/Mex stuff that is found in every Mexican restaurant found in just about every city from coast to coast and from border to border. I say try it and form your own opinion.:goodvibes

As a Mexican-America from Chicago, where we have THE BEST mexican food outside of Mexico, I have eaten at San Angel Inn on every Disney trip for the past 10 years...I LOVE the chicken mole...I LOVE the tortilla soup...this July I will be eating at San Angel for lunch and then La Hacienda for dinner...I say give it a chance...
