Is there a Mexican restaurant in Epcot? The last time we visited we walked into a restaurant inside a pyramid. Was this a Mexican restaurant? I can't remember. If so, what is the name?

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, it is the San Angel Inn. But the restaurant will be closing for an unspecified amount of time beginning May 10.

This is one of my family's favorite restaurants, so we are quite upset that it most likely won't be open when we go in August!! The food isn't great, but you absolutely cannot beat the atmosphere!

I have a reservation at San Angel on May 26, so I called Disney today because I was concerned about the renovation closure rumors. The restaurant is not closing. It is a partial renovation and the restuarant will remain open. There will be less seating available while the renovation is in progress.

We really enjoy Mexican food, but have been disappointed by San Angel Inn several times - even though we keep trying. We've had better luck outside at the Cantina. Our favorite is to get a snack there to eat while we're waiting for Illuminations.

The atmosphere of the restaurant reminds me of the Blue Bayou in Disneyland. Both are inside a building in a night setting as a boat ride floats by (although Pirates of the Caribbean is a better ride than the Gran Fiesta Tour).

The food is not as good in the Mexico pavilion as others have said, but in the middle of a hot August day, maybe a mid-day break in the evening setting will cool you off.
