Does anyone know of a good mexican restaurant on I-Drive? Not talking about a taco bell type. I remember hearing something about one near Bahama Breeze. Does anyone know the name, of have recommendations for good mexican food. Thanks

I think (don't quote me) that the place you are referring to is called Amigos, and yes, it's in the same parking lot as Bahama Breeze (which, by the way, is an awesome place - LOVE the patio on a nice night, just for a couple of drinks!). I have not been to Amigos, but am planning on it this upcoming trip. Don't know your travel dates, but I will be back by the end of the month and can tell you what the foods like!

I just pulled up Google Earth to confirm, because I thought that there was a Don Pablo's right near Bahama Breeze. Indeed, there is. :)

But, according to Google Earth there is also an Amigo's down the street. :)

Coming from Universal Amigos will be first, then Don Pablo's and Bahama Breeze.

Any input on which one is better - Amigos or Don Pablos?

Chisjo- we go mid Feb so if you try out Amigos - let me know. Thanks!

I've never been to Amigos, sorry. :( I've been to Don Pablos (including that one on I-Drive). It's OKAY. Good fajitas, but nothing spectacular IMHO. However I'm not a huge Mexican food fan myself, so my opinion probably isn't worth much. :sad2:

If you like seafood I WAS going to suggest that Boston Lobster Feast right near Don Pablos; it used to be pretty good. However the last time I was there it was terrible. The steak and lobster were both room-temperature.

Absolutely....we leave Wednesday, so I'll have something for you by the end of the month!

Well, here is my reviews....

We searched for 30 minutes for Amigos because we knew that it was supposed to be on I-Drive, but we couldn't find it....and the address that we had turned out to be a mens club, so we went to Don Pablos instead.

The food was ok....not great. It does get great reviews from the locals - 3 people recommended it to us. We had the pabueritas (one frozen and one on the rocks - LOTS of alcohol, so if you like, very good!) and we had an enchalada plate which was ok. Again, the food was average. But, I think had we ordered something else, we probably would have liked it more, but personally, I would go back - the food was very affordable, was in a good location, and the drinks were great! We spent for 2 of us, 2 drinks and an entree each $25. Can't go wrong. Don't know if it's on the top of my list of things to do, but I would go again!

Chisjo - thanks for the info. Hmmm, I wonder if Amigos is gone then? Maybe we'll try Don Pablos then. Were there any other good restaurants that you went too that you recommend?

BrownDalmation - We do love seafood, but Boston Lobster Feast sounds odd to someone from Boston! Go Pats!!!:cheer2:

:lmao:

A couple years ago I went to a place near Cocoa Beach called "Dixie Crossroads." Their seafood wasn't bad. I think they have one of those restaurants on I-Drive, down near the Festival Bay Mall. But, I've never been to that one so I can't say how good it is.

Another restaurant I have not been to - but keep hearing about (several people have told me it's really good) is Texas De Brazil. It's on I-Drive. Here's their website: http://www.texasdebrazil.com. Again, have not been here myself though, but you might want to check it out (I think it's expensive though :confused3 ).

Both Don Pablos in Rochester NY closed within the last year. We enjoyed it there, but we love Chevy's ! ! None in Rochester
